I hope this charming Christmas Decoration will inspire you to get a jump on your Christmas Crafting.

2. Colour the holly branch and adhere beds to the appropriate locations,

3. Used whipped spackle to create the snow on the leaves.

Graduation Gift with Tracy Sagriff

This project  is a gift for a young lady who  is graduating from her Christian high school this week. I thought it might be a useful magnet for her fridge to encourage her to move boldly into the new chapter of her life.

I used 2 coats of paint on the chipboard and then used the ink to distress the edges. Stamp sentiment on a small scrap of light coloured paper.
Adhere doily to Victorian circle slightly offset to the left. Position the cross on the right side and overlap  the cross with journey. Once you are happy with position adhere pieces together. Glue the sentiment so that it is even with the chipboard. Add embellishments.

Sunshine and Gelatos with Tracy S

There is nothing quite as relaxing as spending a long lazy weekend playing with your craft supplies. I had so much fun creating this fun card that would be perfect to make a new neighbour or coworker feel right at home.

Directions:

Use the tape to create a border around the entire perimeter of the card. Make sure that the tape is straight and evenly placed.
Use green and blue Gelatos to create a silky smooth backdrop. Using your blender you can decide how much variation will be in the image.
Use black Gelatos to colour the chipboard and adhere it to the card.
Carefully peel back your tape. The trick is to keep the piece you are lifting grasped closely to where it is stuck.
Ink up your sentiment stamp and and add it to the bottom of the shaded area.
Use the fine marker to create freestyle patterns all over your card.

Other Supplies Used:

Seaside Shaker Dashboard with Tracy Sagriff

Now that the first days of sunshine and warmth are upon us I have been daydreaming of summer days at the beach. Those welcome thoughts of days in the sun inspired the project that I am sharing today.
Creating inserts for my various planners has become a full on obsession for me. The darling sea creatures in this chipboard set practically screamed out shaker dashboard. There is nothing more fun than an adorable shaker to fill your day with sunshine. This particular one has three separate layers to fill with goodies. This allows the pieces to float freely without becoming entangled in the bottom of the pouch.

Directions:
  • Using the Yupo paper and alcohol inks create an Ocean background
  • Colour the chipboard creatures with mica powders and distress glitter
  • As the elements are drying, cut two equal  sections out of the page protector (2 layers each). You will want them to be slightly smaller than the dimension of the planner you use.
  • Place the two double layered sections into a laminating pouch. Ensure all the edges are perfectly aligned and full covered by laminate film.
  • After running pouch through laminator cut the top edge off the pouch allowing it to open on one end.
  • Carefully use your fingers to open the layers.
  • Slide your Yupo background into the back layer facing the other layers.
  • Drop your coloured creatures in each of the pockets along with your sequin mix.
  • Use a fuse tool to seal the end shut.
  • Fold a sheet of black cardstock  in half to create an envelope for the shaker.
  • Cut a window out of one side so that you can see the shaker but not the seams.
  • Use double sided tape to seal the paper closed.
  • Attach another piece of cardstock prepunched for your planner to the spine side.
  • Decorate with washi tape.
  • Place it in your planner and enjoy.

Silver Box with Tracy Sagriff

If you knew me you would know that I love all things vintage and frilly. That often is reflected in the art that I create. This project falls under that category.

I fell in love with the Strawberry Leaf Oval Frame from Southern Ridge Trading Company and knew that it was going to be the foundation of this design. When I first took it out and began creating I had intended to use it as the backdrop for a very summery picnic themed altered cigar box. I imagined making big red strawberries to emphasize the incredible detail in this cut. Somewhere along the line my vintage vibe took over and before I knew it I had created a very vintage inspired faux hammered silver box. That just shows how one piece can have so many possibilities.

  1. Start by applying a thin coat of the black gesso to the entire box. This makes it so much easier than trying to get every nook and cranny later.
  2. Use the chipboard frame to trace the shape on the napkin or rice paper. Be sure to think about what part of the image you want to be featured on the box. Set the cut image aside.
  3. Adhere the chipboard frame to the box top using gel medium. Allow plenty of time for it to dry thoroughly.
  4. Once dry adhere your resin roses to the box. Again let that gel medium really dry before moving one.
  5. Coat the entire box top, frame and roses with a thin coat of black gesso. Once dry you can paint the box. I used an undercoat of light green then a layer of crackle medium and then finally a layer of black paint. When the cracking was done I gently rubbed the entire box top with silver texture luxe.
  6. Apply a thin layer of gel medium to the inside of the frame and glue down your image.
  7. Once dry you can use your foil and texture luxe to bring out the areas you want to be silver.  I find you have the best control if you work with your fingers.
  8. Coat the key piece in silver texture luxe and adhere it along with any embellishments or bling to the box top.
  9. There you go a beautiful faux silver box which would make a PERFECT GIFT for Mother’s Day.
