3D Canister with Cathy Potosky

Happy August everyone! Yes, you read that right, it says August! Where is the summer going? Cathy here with my newest project today.

A storage container that will jazz up your creative space! I used the Eileen Hull Canister Die as my base for the amazing vintage sewing pieces from SRTC.

I cut out my pieces, used double sided tape (Be Creative Tape) to put them together and then painted my base colours of Distress Paint in Vintage Photo and Ground Espresso.

While that was drying I coloured my dress form from the Wire Dress Form Kit with Distress Oxide Inks and stained white lace with Distress Spray Stain.

I cut pieces of the TH Ecetera Paper Stash for the 4 sides, the paper has old patterns and rulers on it. On the lighter paper I embossed the whole piece with Baked Texture in Vintage Beeswax and edged all pieces with Ground Espresso.

My SRTC Dressmaker Mix pieces were embossed with a number of Emerald Creek powders (all listed below) and my Mini Wooden Rulers were sponged with Distress Ink.

Then it was time to put all the pieces together! I think this may be one of my favourite projects!

Here are a few close ups of the dress form. I added the necklace using tiny beads I had in my stash.

The legs on my container are old wooden spools I had and then embossed with Baked Texture Patina Oxide.

Beautiful Canvas with Tracy Sagriff

This weeks project draws from the beauty of the faded newspapers that lined my grandmothers china drawers and the beautiful pressed flowers  often found between the pages of books. Time seemed to move much slower then. Hoping you can find a few slow moments this summer to craft.

Directions:

Paint all the chipboard
Adhere design paper to canvas and distresss
Use Gelato, distress stains etc to create a focal spot in the centre of the canvas.
Adhere chipboard after distressing the edges. Arrange and adhere all die cuts.

Feminine Happy Birthday Tag with Katelyn Grosart

Hey there Southern Ridge Trading Company fans, Katelyn here. Today, I've created for you a beautiful Happy Birthday tag, that's perfect to give to that special woman in your life for their birthday. You'll want to read below as I share with you how I transformed each of my chipboard pieces to create my Feminine Happy Birthday Tag.

To start, you'll need a half a piece of the Delicate Lace Doily. Once you have a half piece of the doily, cut the doily in half again. Apply two coats of Spun Sugar Distress Paint to each delicate lace doily piece. Set the pieces aside to dry. After the pieces have dried, apply the Spun Sugar Distress Crayon to portions of the doily. Rub the crayon in with your finger.

Pull out two Mini Wood Feathers. Apply three coats of Bundled Sage Distress Stain to each feather. Set the feathers aside to dry.

From the Leaves set, cut out one leaf of your choice. Apply three coats of Weathered Wood Distress Stain to the leaf. Set the leaf aside to dry.

Cut out one of the Happy Birthday Sentiments from the Birthday Greetings package. Apply two coats of Victorian Velvet Distress Paint to the Happy Birthday sentiment. Set the sentiment aside to dry. Once the sentiment has dried, go over it with a Victorian Velvet Distress Crayon. Rub the crayon in with your finger.

Trace the top portion of the dress form onto a piece of patterned paper. Cut the dress form image out. Using Antique Linen Distress Paint, paint both dress form pieces. Once the paint has dried, apply Antique Linen Distress Crayon to the chipboard piece. Rub the crayon in with your finger. Adhere the patterned paper dress form piece to the chipboard dress form.

Adhere the wire portion of the dress form to the dress form.

Now you can assemble your Feminine Happy Birthday tag. Start by adhering the large patterned paper piece to the tag. Adhere the doily pieces onto the patterned paper. Adhere the smaller patterned paper piece overtop of the large patterned paper piece.

Embellish and add whatever else you might want to your wire dress form. Foam square the wire dress form to the middle of the tag.
Adhere the Happy Birthday sentiment to the bottom portion of the wire dress form.

To finish off your tag, add a light pink ribbon bow to the top of the tag. Your Feminine Happy Birthday Tag is now complete.

Vintage Dress Form Card with Corina Finley

Welcome!

Thank you for stopping by and taking a look at my Vintage Dress Form Card. I used Southern Ridges Wire Dress Form Set, Material, Seam Binding, and Prima Paper to create my card.

The card base was created from Kraft cardstock. I layered Prima Pattern Paper on to dark brown Bazzill Cardstock. I distressed the edges and stitched around the edges with my sewing machine.

I covered the base of the Wire Dress Form Set with Tim Holtz Ruler material. To the overlay, I applied Distress Ink in Espresso to the raw chipboard using a blending tool and also little touches of metallic polish in bronze.

Seam Binding was wrapped around the waist and a rosette with button was adhered on top. I  placed the sentiment 'remember' sticker to a small ephemera piece and stitched around the word.
