Cute Family Scrapbook Layout with Deonna Riegler

Hello all my crafty friends,
Here is a little bonus project I made with the words “Cute and Family” from Southern Ridge Trading Company.

I had a several beautiful picture’s of my son’s wedding and I thought showed a start to a “Cute Family”.

I first painted the Chipboard words and let them dry.  I then add a layer Nuvo sparkle let them and dry.

I cut my photos into the desired sizes to run along the page, cut out all my embellishments and inked them.  Since I had this page kit pack and it went well with my theme I used it. I tied it all together with a large dolly punch I had and then glued all the little embellishment pieces around the circle picture of my son and his beautiful bride added the title.

I think it all came together well and they are on the way to being a Cute Family!

Moments in Time Scrapbook Layout with Laura Gilhuly

Good morning!

Its a sad day – today will be my final post for Southern Ridge Trading Company – it has been awesome being on this team!

Oh, how time flies – this was our youngest when he graduated Kindergarten – he is now 17!

I used Penelope Dee papers that I tore and layered

For the chipboard flourish and Moments in Time title piece, I painted them in the blue then inked the edges with red ink then added a few gems for visual interest.

Wish Scrapbook Layout with Karla Yungwirth

Hello friends! Karla back today with a pretty spring layout using beautiful chipboard pieces from the Dandelion Seed Stems and Butterfly Swirl Combo sets along with the pretty Loop Stencil available at the Southern Ridge Trading Company Shop. These were all so perfect to coordinate with this sweet photo of my daughter blowing dandelion seeds at a park near a local farmers market! I love being able to alter the chipboard – even though it is gorgeous as is! I was easily able to customize it to coordinate with the spring colours I used on this layout.

I used the same technique from my last post where I covered the chipboard pieces with Ranger Distress Crayons, blended them with my finger, and then added a coat of Tattered Angels Chalk Chalkboard Mist that I put into an old waterbrush. I really love the effect this creates on the chipboard, adding colour and then a layer of beautiful shimmer! You can see exactly how I do this in the video linked at the bottom of the post.

I used the pretty 3x3” Loop Stencil, which is also available as a 6x6” or 12x12” size, to create a shimmery background effect behind the dandelion chipboard by spreading Shimmerz glimmer paste through it with a palette knife. I love how iridescent it looks!

You can find the video showing you just how I created this layout, along with the process I used to alter the chipboard, here - https://youtu.be/dd1Hh1nczjU

Mixed Media Panel with Deonna Riegler

Hello my Scrappy friends,
This is a special project because it is a mixed Media style!  In my normal crafting I usually scrapbook along with many other things but mixed media is usually reserved for my canvas paintings.

I used the chipboard pieces “Dreamcatcher corner & Tribal Feather Skinny Strand” from the large variety at Southern Ridge Trading Company!

I collected many off the wall items like buttons, small bows, crocheted doilies and assorted torn papers pieces.  I added all these in a style that flowed well with a heavy adhesive.  I then covered the entire canvas with white Gesso and let it dry.  I took the chipboard pieces and covered them in white paint and let them dry.  Keep in mind this was not a quick project with all the drying time.

After everything was dried, I inked and swiped with several different supplies.  The chipboard pieces had several colours of distress inks to blend into the finished project.
I added beading and feathers to incorporate the chipboard pieces to pull it all together.

The end result is a multi mixed media piece with a tribal feel!
