Today, I've created for you a pretty Enjoy the Simple Things Card, that's perfect to hang to give to that special someone in your life or you could change it and make it a baby card. You'll want to read below as I share with you how I created my Enjoy the Simple Things card.

To start, pull out the small frame from the Abstract Circle Frame package. Apply two coats of Titanium White Acrylic paint to the frame. To finish off the frame, ink the edges of the frame with Vintage Photo Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.

Take a small bow out of the Ribbon Bows package. Apply two coats of Stormy Sky Distress Paint to the bow. Once the paint has dried, apply Picket Fence Distress Crayon to the bow. Rub the crayon in with your finger.

Pull out three Mini Wood Stars from the package. Apply two coats of Tarnished Brass Distress Stain to each star. After the stain has dried, apply Gathered Twigs Distress Crayon to the edges of the stars. Rub the crayon in with your finger.

Take two of the Sm. Primitive Stars out of the package. Ink the edges of the stars using Vintage Photo Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.

Pull out two Mini Connected Hearts from the package. Cut one of the connected hearts apart. Using Art Alchemy Metallique Wax in White Gold, rub the wax over each heart.

The last chipboard piece you'll need is the Delicate Lace Element. With the element in front of you, cut one of the pieces off. Apply two coats of Walnut Stain Distress Paint to the element.

From the Images from the Past Paper, use the 2 1/2" fitted circle die to cut out the bunny and teddy bear. Die cut the 3" fitted circle out of Pion Blue Vl. Distress the edges of each circle. Ink the edges of the circles using Vintage Photo Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.

Cut the following patterned paper pieces from the Pion Design paper:

Adhere the bunny paper to the green clover paper. Adhere the green clover paper to the cream/green patterned paper. Adhere the cream/green paper to the gold paper.

Adhere the Bunny/Teddy Bear image to the blue circle. Foam square the blue circle to the middle of the card front. Adhere the circle frame overtop of the Bunny/Teddy Bear image.

Adhere one of the Sm. Primitive stars in the top left hand side of the circle and adhere the other star on the bottom right hand side of the circle. Adhere the lace element bar to the top of the circle. Adhere the bow overtop of the lace element bar.

Snowman Merry Christmas Card with Katelyn Grosart

Hey there Southern Ridge Trading Company fans, Katelyn here and I'm on the blog today to share  some inspiration with you from our current monthly challenge which is all about "Christmas & New Years". Today I've got a Snowman Merry Christmas card for you that will be sure to inspire you to recreate it. Grab a cup of coffee or tea and learn how I transformed my chipboard pieces and assembled my card to create my fun Christmas card.

To start, take out six Mini Wood Snowflakes. Cover each snowflake in two layers of Picket Fence Distress Stain. Once the stain has dried, cover the snowflakes in a layer of VersaMark Ink and sprinkle Iridescent Shimmer Embossing Powder overtop of each of the snowflakes. Tap off the excess powder and emboss with a heat tool. Set the snowflakes aside to cool. Once the embossing powder has cooled down, add a red glitter/gold glitter dot to the centres of each snowflake.

Next, you'll need the Ornate Square Frame #2. Apply two coats of Picket Fence Distress Stain to the frame. Once the distress stain has dried, cover the snowflakes in a layer of VersaMark Ink and sprinkle Soft Fallen Snow Embossing Powder overtop of the frame. Tap off the excess powder and emboss with a heat tool.

Pull out six Snowflakes 712 out of the package. Apply two coats of Picket Fence Distress Stain on each snowflake. Set aside the snowflakes to dry.

Take out one sleigh from the Sm. Wood Sleighs package. Apply two coats of Walnut Stain Distress Stain to the sleigh. Set the sleigh aside to dry.

Pull out four Sm. Primitive Stars out of the package. Apply two coats of Brushed Pewter Distress Stain on each star. Set aside the stars to dry.

Next, you'll need to pull one Merry Christmas banner and four stars from the Mini Wood Stars. Blend Barn Door Distress Ink onto the Merry Christmas banner. Blend Fossilized Amber Distress Ink to the four wood stars. Once the banner and stars have been inked, use a blending tool ink the edges of the banner and stars using Walnut Stain Distress Ink.

Take three mittens out of the package. Apply two coats of Candied Apple Distress Paint. Once the mittens have dried, use a blending tool and ink the edges of the mittens using Walnut Stain Distress Ink.

Next, you'll need to get out your paper trimmer. Trim the snowman image down to 2 7/8" x 2 7/8", trim the large snowflake patterned paper to 5 1/4" x 5 1/4",  trim the small snowflake patterned paper to 5 1/2" x 5 1/2" and trim the plaid patterned paper to 5 3/4" x 5 3/4".  Edge distress all the edges of the patterned paper and then ink the edges of the patterned paper and image using a blend tool and Walnut Stain Distress Ink.

Adhere the small snowflake patterned paper to the plaid patterned paper. Adhere the large snowflake patterned paper to the small snowflake patterned paper.

Adhere the snowman image to the middle of the large snowflake patterned paper. Once the snowman image has been adhered, adhere the ornate frame overtop of the snowman image.

Adhere three white stained snowflakes in the bottom left hand corner of the frame. Adhere the other three white stained snowflakes in the top right hand corner of the frame.

Adhere two of the brushed pewter stars in the bottom left hand corner of the frame overtop of the snowflakes. Once the stars have been adhered in the bottom right hand corner, adhere two of the wood stars in the bottom left hand corner. Adhere the other two brushed pewter stars in the top right hand corner of the frame overtop of the snowflakes. Once the stars have been adhered in the top right hand corner, adhere the other two wood stars in the top right hand corner.

Before adhering the sleigh in the bottom left hand corner, add a piece of twine to the sleigh. In the bottom left hand corner, adhere the banner, sleigh a mitten and a snowflake. In the top right hand corner, adhere the two mittens and three snowflakes.

In the bottom left hand corner, adhere six red roses, four black roses and three dark brown roses as desired. In the top right hand corner, adhere seven red roses, five black roses and three dark drown roses as desired. Once the roses have been adhered, adhere the card front to 6" card base.

Peace & Cheer Gift Tag Set with Katelyn Grosart

Hey there Southern Ridge Trading Company fans, Katelyn here and I'm back on the blog today to share with you some more inspiration from our current monthly challenge which is "Christmas/Winter". It's hard to believe that Christmas is exactly a month away today, so I've created a Gift Tag set for you that will be sure to inspire you to create as well as accomplish some of your Christmas crafting. Grab a cup of coffee or tea and learn how I transformed my chipboard pieces to create the perfect additions to my Gift Tags.

To start, pick out one of the stockings from the Christmas Stockings set. Apply two coats of Picket Fence Distress Stain to the top of the stocking and apply two coats of Candied Apple Distress Stain to the bottom portion of the stocking. Set aside the stocking to dry.

Pull out eight Sm. Primitive Stars out of the package. Apply two coats of Brushed Pewter Distress Stain on each star. Set aside the stars to dry.

Take one Wood Small Marked Reindeer out of the package. Apply a coat of Gathered Twigs Distress Stain to the reindeer. While the Gathered Twigs Distress Stain is still wet, apply a layer of Brushed Pewter Distress Stain over top of the reindeer to give it some extra sparkle. Set the reindeer aside to dry.

From the Wood Words of Christmas - Joy set, pick out the word "cheer" and out of the Wood Words of Christmas - Noel set, pick out the word "peace".  For both words, apply a coat of Gathered Twigs Distress stain and then a coat of Candied Apply Distress Stain. Before both coats of distress stain drys, apply a coat of Brushed Pewter Distress Stain to give your words some extra sparkle. Set the words aside to dry.

Select three stars from the Mini Wood Stars set. Apply two coats of Tarnished Brass Distress Stain to each star. Set the stars aside to dry.

For the frames on the gift tags, you'll need both of the Small Victorian Lace Frames. To start, apply two coats of Picket Fence Distress Stain to each frame. Once the frames have dried, apply VersaMark ink to each frame and sprinkle Soft Fallen Snow embossing powder over top. Tap off the excess powder and emboss with your heat tool. If you find areas that weren't fully covered by the powder, reapply the VersaMark Ink to those areas, sprinkle the embossing powder overtop, tap off the excess powder and then emboss with your heat tool.

The last element that needs to be done is five of the Mini Wood Snowflake. To start, apply two coats of Picket Fence Distress Stain to each snowflake. Once the stain has dried, apply a layer of VersaMark ink to each snowflake and sprinkle Iridescent Shimmer Embossing powder overtop. Tap off the excess powder and emboss with a heat tool. To finish the snowflakes off, add a red/gold glitter dot to the centres of each snowflake.

Before assembling your tags, you'll need to trace the tag around whichever pieces of patterned paper you'd like to use and then cut them out. If you are using Graphic 45 tags like I have, to make the eyelet fit through your paper, punch a hole using 1/2" hole punch.

With the patterned paper for the base of your gift tags cut, cut two pieces of patterned paper that measure 3 5/8" x 4 3/4", this will be the second layer of patterned paper for the gift tag. Make sure to round all four corners of your cut patterned paper.

Using your edge distressor, distress the edges of the tag shaped patterned paper pieces as well as the other patterned paper pieces. Once the edges have been distressed, take your blending tool and Vintage Photo Distress Ink and ink the edges of the papers.

Pull out two medium doilies and ink the edges of them using a blending tool and Vintage Photo Distress Ink.

Adhere the tag shaped patterned paper to each of the tags. Adhere the second layer of patterned paper to the middle of the tag. Once the second layer of paper has been adhered, adhere a doily in the middle of the patterned paper.

Adhere the small victorian frames to the middle of each doily on each of the gift tags. Once the frame has been adhered, adhere the word cheer in the middle of one of the frames and adhere the word peace to the middle of the other frame.

To decorate the cheer gift tag, add the reindeer in the bottom right hand corner of the frame. Adhere three silver stars to the top left hand corner of the frame. Once the silver stars have been adhered, add the gold stars overtop of the silver stars.

To finish decorating around the chipboard pieces on the Cheer gift tag, adhere three light blue roses, three cream roses and three dark brown roses as desired in the bottom right hand corner around the reindeer. For the top left hand corner of the frame, adhere six cream roses, four light blue roses and five dark brown roses as desired.

Here is the Cheer Gift Tag once you've added your ribbon through the eyelet.

Here are some close up of the Cheer gift tag once all the elements had been added.

For the Peace gift tag, adhere two silver in the bottom right hand corner of the frame. With the stars adhered, adhere the stocking overtop of the two stars, where the stars meet. To finish the bottom right corner, adhere two snowflakes. In the top left hand corner of the frame, adhere three silver stars, having the third star sit on top of the other two. With the stars adhered, adhere the three snowflakes overtop of each star.

To finish decorating around the chipboard pieces on the Peace gift tag, adhere two light blue roses, three cream roses and three red roses as desired in the bottom right hand corner around the reindeer. For the top left hand corner of the frame, adhere five cream roses, three light blue roses and five red roses as desired.

Here is the Peace Gift Tag once you've added your ribbon through the eyelet.
