Sweet Love Scrapbook Layout with Charlene Byrd

Hello blogger friends!
Charlene Here!

February is the month to celebrate your loved ones! Today I’m sharing a layout I designed with my hubby and I. The photo was taken during one of my favourite photo shoots ever…I love the old truck!

To start I added Glimmer Mist to the lamppost sign, the words and the fence. If you read my last blog post you’ll know I get frustrated when my Glimmer Mist bottles get clogged up! So instead of battling with them, I simply grab a paint brush and dip it in the bottle. Works like a charm!

Once they were dry I randomly dabbed White Distress paint on them.

Then I gave it a light mist of Perfect Pearls mist to give it some shimmer.

To finish it off I rubbed Pumice Stone Distress ink over the top of the chipboard pieces.
(Oh and FYI…I cut the fence into 2 pieces for the layout)

Then because the photos were taken in the snow I wanted the heart and the corner swirl to have some glitter!

I started by painting them both with white paint. Then I added some Glue and Seal adhesive to them so I could glue some Tim Holtz Distress Glitter to them. I was so happy with the outcome. The Distress Glitter gave it just the right amount of shimmer!

More Cute than Spooky Scrapbook Layout with Charlene Byrd

Hello Everyone!

Who doesn’t love a good costume?!! I know I sure do! My nephew’s family is so adorable, I love them all! How adorably cute are these 3 little hunters who are getting ready to shoot some ducks! (It takes a confident man to put on tights! Haha!)
So let’s get started on how I created this ‘More Cute then Spooky’ page.

I simply stained the spider web with Black Soot Distress stain. I glued it where I wanted the spider web and cut off the excess. That allowed me to have a piece for the bottom corner.

To make the sign post I first wanted to distress the bottom to give it texture so that it looked a bit more weathered and worn. To do this I used an x-acto knife and made little cuts along the bottom of the chipboard. (Make sure to not cut all the way through).

From there I started playing. I knew I wanted it to look a bit like patina. I started by painting the entire piece with Antique White paint. Then I dry brushed some brown and blue paint. At this point it looked good but I just wasn’t completely pleased yet. So then I remembered I had some Perfect Pearls Powder. I added some VersaMark to the top and used a dry paint brush to randomly add 3 colours of Perfect Pearls. Now it was perfect!

I continued the look of the Perfect Pearls onto the gate. I started by staining the gate black. Then I added the VersaMark Ink and 3 colours of Perfect Pearls. The look was a little more subtle than the sign which is what I wanted.

The word Cute was first stained with Black Soot Distress Stain and then I added some Clear UTEE to make it pop.
