All of these supplies will be linked at the bottom of this post.  Here you can see a stamp, stencil, birch wood gears and chipboard keys.  I know, I know this collection rock’s-it… and there is even more choices in the store.

Here in this photo you can see the texture and design from the gear stencil by applying a layer of modelling paste through the stencil.

After all the pieces of chipboard have been primed with DecoArt Gesso, dried; I painted my textured tag, and key chipboard with DecoArt Paint.  I applied ink to the key stamp and stamped onto the wings of the chipboard key.  The stamp really add’s to the overall steampunk look.

Added a little paint splatter to give the tag the rustic look and tied a ribbon at the top of the tag. How do you like a the soft pastel version of the traditional grunge dark steampunk projects.  I found it a challenge to not go dark.  So, how about you the reader and scraper can you give it a Pastel try?

Happy New Year Card with Ava Gavloski

Hello, Ava here wishing everyone a Happy New Year!  All the best in 2017!

I have a very Aged Vintage Card to share with you from a past time era.
The old wooden / steel blade type of sleigh.

white sled full.jpg

As you can see the sleigh is weathered, crackled and reflects the aged tones
from many winters of use on those hills of fun.

sled crackle.jpg

To get the aged look, paint the sleigh with a vintage antique white acrylic paint from DecoArt Paint.  Two coats should do it.
Apply a coat of Crackle medium and let the sleigh dry over night.

When you look at this sleigh it appear as if the days gone by have made the paint on the sleigh start too flaking off in the warm winter sunshine.

The yellow tones of the burlap and the faded stamped sentiment truly takes the card back to an old era.

You can find these cute little small wooden sleighs in the shop
under the Christmas and Holiday Section.

That blue vintage bicycle truly captures the simplicity and beauty of stepping back, slowing down and soaking in the color palette of Fall.

Lets get started preparing the chipboard for this mother earth layout.
Paint your chipboard with your paint of choice, allow to dry.

Next, apply some Glue Gloss to the cat tails and pour on some seed beads.  Allow to dry.
