Seaside Wall Hanging with Katelyn Grosart

Happy Canada Day!
Hey Southern Ridge Trading Company fans, Katelyn here. Summer has officially arrived and I have been busy starting to create some summer themed home decor projects. For today's project you guessed it, a Seaside Wall Hanging perfect to add to any area of your home. You'll want to read below as I share with you how to recreate my Seaside Wall Hanging at home.

To start, you'll need the Wood Vintage Frame. Apply two coats of Antique Linen Distress Paint over the entire surface of the top frame and on the ends of the bottom frame. Using your finger, rub Ground Espresso Distress Crayon along the edges of the top frame.

Next, you'll need three Mini Wood Starfish. Apply two coats of Chipped Sapphire Distress Paint to two of the starfish. Apply two coats of Carved Pumpkin Distress Paint to the other starfish.

You'll need the Seaside word out of the Nautical Mix. Apply a coat of Emboss It Ink to the word. Sprinkle Salted Navy Embossing Powder over the entire surface of the word. Tap off the excess powder and emboss with a heat tool.

From the Mini Wood Sand Dollar package, you'll need three.

The last chipboard element you'll need is the Mini Wood Clam Shell, you'll need two of these. Apply two coats of Antique Linen Distress Paint to each of the clam shells.

From the Sun Kissed border strips, choose two strips. Cut each strip down to 5 1/2". Ink the edges of the border strips using Ground Espresso Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.

From the Sun Kissed paper with turtles, fussy cut two turtles out. Ink the edges of the turtles using Ground Espresso Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.

From the Sun Kissed flower paper, fussy cut one flower out. Ink the edges of the flower using Ground Espresso Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.

Die cut a 3 1/2" Stitched Oval out of one of the patterned papers from the Sun Kissed collection. Ink the edges fo the oval using Ground Espresso Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.

Adhere the oval to the bottom portion of the frame. Adhere the two border strips to the middle of the stitched oval. Adhere the top portion of the frame to the bottom portion of the frame.

In the bottom right hand side of the frame, adhere a sand dollar, turtle, clam shell and blue starfish.

In the top left hand side of the frame, adhere two sand dollars, a blue starfish, a orange starfish, the other turtle, orange flower and clam shell.

In the middle of the frame, adhere the Seaside word.

To finish off the frame, add white small flowers in amongst the elements in the left side and right side as desired. To finish off the wall hanging, add a piece of twine to the top of the wall hanging.

Here are a few closeup photos of the finished wall hanging.

Here is the finished Seaside Wall Hanging.
