Joy Christmas Tree Ornament with Katelyn Grosart

Hey there Southern Ridge Trading Company fans, Katelyn here. Fall is here and I've been in starting my Christmas crafting. So today, I've created for you a fabulous Joy Christmas Ornament, that's perfect to hang on your Christmas tree this holiday season. You'll want to read below as I share with you how I embellished the chipboard elements on my Joy Christmas Ornament.

To start, pull out the Joy word from the Wood Words of Christmas - Joy. Apply two coats of Tarnished Brass Distress Stain to the Joy word. Set the word aside to dry.

Take two Snowflakes 712 out of the package. Apply two coats of Brushed Pewter Distress Stain to the snowflakes. Set the snowflakes aside to dry.

Choose one of the Spruce Cones and take it out of the package.  Apply two coats of Walnut Stain Distress Paint to the spruce cone. Set the spruce cone aside to dry.

Pick one of the Small Merry Deer Mix out of the package. Apply a coat of Emboss It Ink to the deer. Sprinkle Charred Gold Embossing Powder overtop of the deer. Tap off the excess powder and emboss with your heat tool.

Take one wood piece out of the package. Apply a coat of Emboss It Ink to the wood piece. Sprinkle Charred Gold Embossing Powder overtop of the wood piece. Tap off the excess powder and emboss with your heat tool.

Take out one of the Snowflakes 714 and one of the Snowflake Wreath - Small out of the packages. Apply two coats of Brushed Pewter Distress Stain to the snowflake and the snowflake wreath. With the distress stain dry, apply a coat of Emboss It Ink to the snowflake and snowflake wreath. Sprinkle Fractured Ice Embossing Powder overtop of each piece. Tap off the excess powder and emboss with your heat tool.

From the 3D Filagree Star Ornament package, take out the small circle piece. Apply a coat of Emboss It Ink to the ornament. Sprinkle Burnt Copper Leaves Embossing Powder overtop of the ornament. Tap off the excess powder and emboss with your heat tool.

To assemble the ornament, adhere and layer the snowflake wreath, wood piece, spruce cone and ornament piece together. With the base of the ornament adhered together, in the top right hand corner, adhere all three snowflakes to the corner of the ornament. To finish off the corner, adhere one white rose, a black rose and one brown rose.

To finish the middle of the ornament, adhere the deer and the "Joy" word.

In the bottom left hand corner of the ornament, adhere two white roses, three black roses and three brown roses.

To finish off your Christmas Ornament, add a piece of twine to the top of the snowflake wreath.
