Happy Halloween Tag with Katelyn Grosart

Hey there Southern Ridge Trading Company fans, Katelyn here. It's hard to believe that August is here and Halloween will be here before you know it. Today, I've created for you a fabulous Happy Halloween Tag, that's perfect to give to that lover of halloween in your life. You'll want to read below as I share with you how I transformed each of my chipboard pieces to create my Happy Halloween Tag.

To start you'll need the Tombstone chipboard pieces.  For the RIP Tombstone piece, cover the piece in a coat of Emboss It Ink. Sprinkle Hammered Metal Embossing Powder over the entire surface. Emboss with your heat tool. Set aside to cool.

For the large Tombstone piece, cover the piece in a coat of Emboss It Ink. Sprinkle Midnight Black Embossing Powder over the entire surface. Emboss with your heat tool. Set aside to cool.

Pick two zombies out of the Zombie Gang package. Cut one of the zombies so that there's just the head, keep the legs. From the Halloween Header piece, cut one of the hands off. Using a baby wipe and Black Marble Dylusions Paint, apply the paint to each zombie and the hand. Set the pieces aside to dry.

With the Zombie Gang package still out, pick a zombie out. Now you'll need the other half of the body left over from the cut in half zombie. Apply Emboss It Ink to each piece. Sprinkle Onyx Frost Embossing Powder overtop of each piece. Emboss with your heat tool. Set the pieces aside to cool.

Next, you'll need a piece of the Grass Border, the Happy Halloween (cut off the ghosts and keep the ghosts to the side) and cut some hands off of the Halloween Header.  Apply two coats of Peeled Paint Distress Paint to the grass border, apply two coats of Carved Pumpkin Distress Paint to the Happy Halloween and apply two coats of Hickory Smoke Distress Paint to the Hands. Once the paint has dried on all three pieces, go over each piece with  the Black Soot Distress Crayon. Rub the crayon in with your finger.

The last piece to transform are the two ghosts that were cut off of the Happy Halloween sentiment. Using a baby wipe and White Linen Dylusions Paint, paint the ghosts. Set the ghosts aside to dry.

Now you can assemble your Happy Halloween tag. Start by adhering the large patterned paper piece to the tag. Adhere the small piece of patterned paper piece to the large patterned paper piece.  Adhere your RIP tombstone to your large tombstone. Decorate your tombstone as desired with the halloween chipboard elements. Foam square the tombstone with elements to the middle of the small piece of patterned paper.

To finish the tag, created a bow out of black ribbon.

Here are a few closeup shots of the finished Happy Halloween Tag.

Here's my finished Happy Halloween tag. I hope that I've inspired you to recreate my tag at home.
