Hello! Thank you for joining me, Corina, here on the Southern Ridge Trading Company blog. For this post, I wanted to share with you a special Ornament that I have hanging on my Christmas tree.

The steps I used to create these Ornaments are very simple. I used the embossing dauber to apply a layer of embossing ink on top of the Snowflake and Happy Holiday sentiment. I coated the Snowflake with Gold tinsel embossing powder and the Happy Holidays sentiment with blue tinsel embossing powder. Heat set all three pieces and let cool. I used glossy accents to attached the Happy Holiday sentiment. For a finishing touch I added rhinestones and gold thread to hang.

Happy New Year

I hope that had a wonderful Christmas with friends and family, making tons of memories. There are only three days left to add your project to our "Christmas Words" Monthly Challenge. To learn about all of the details and how to enter your piece, you can head here.  For all of you that have already submitted, we have loved seeing all of the projects.  Now lets get down to business, it's my last post of the 2015 year and I thought what better way to end the year then by a Happy New Year card. 

Supplies Used: SRTC - Snowflake Wreath (large) & 10mm White Flowers, Emerald Creek - Happy New Year Stamp & Iridescent Shimmer Embossing Powder, Tsukineko/Imagine Crafts - Gold Delicata & Sponge Dauber, Zig Writer - Wink of Stella: Gold Glitter, Rhinestones - Clear, Bazzill Cardstock - White & Black, Crafter's Companion - Ultra Smooth Cardstock, Ranger - Heat Tool

To get the beautiful shimmer on the Snowflake Wreath - Large, I took a sponge dauber and applied Gold Delicata over the entire snowflake wreath. The snowflake wreath looked great once it was covered in Gold Delicata, but I wanted to add even more sparkle to it.  To add the extra sparkle, I covered the entire wreath with Iridescent Shimmer embossing powder and then dried it with a heat tool.  Once it was embossed, I added the clear rhinestones randomly around the entire wreath. The  finishing touch on my wreath, were the white flowers that I added Wink of Stella - Gold Glitter to the edges and then placed them around the wreath. To get the Happy New Year saying, apply Gold Delicata to the Happy New Year stamp and stamp onto Ultra Smooth Cardstock. Trim it down and adhere to an 1/8" larger piece of black cardstock. The saying will be adhered to the middle of the wreath around the swirls and snowflakes.

Snowmansoup

Hello everyone, today, on the 2nd Christmas Day, I'll show you Snowman soup :)  

 I have mixed cocoa powder and a bit of cinnamon in a bottle. I filled Mini Marshmallow's In a Clearcup and decorated the Clearcup. The papers that I have used are from Maja Design. In addition, I used the beautiful chipboards of Southern Ridge.

On the stiff tape for the bottle I glued a reindeer Chipboard, which I embossed white in multiple layers.

The Clear cups was embellished with this sweet snowflakes. First, I have embossed them white and then used some Stickles Star Dust.

I have made the text 'Snowman Soup' with my Dymo Labeler and stuck it on the top .

Last Post of the Year!

That sounds so strange, last post of the year!  Giggle, well not last post ever just on SRTC in 2015.  I will be back in January, on with my card!   Christmas Words is the challenge at SRTC and I chose Jingle All The Way from the SRTC shop!

I used white card stock from Close To My Heart and designer paper from my stash.  I embossed the chipboard with Pearl embossing powder from Close To My Heart and added white flocking to 2 of the snowflakes.  I used white liquid applique on the smallest snowflake, brown for the sleigh and blue, white, green liquid applique for the bell.  I added some gems, pom poms, and bling from my stash.  I used Memory box dies to cut out the pine branches and the dangly boarder.  There you have it.  Merry Christmas.

A Winter's Sparkle

You know when you just can't decide what elements to use because you love them all?

Well this past week at PPC&F we teamed up with one of our sponsors, East Wind, with this

So I carefully cut a portion (I use every piece :D) to use as a border from SRTC Pattern Snowflake

I'm so glad I waited becuase these snowflake are gorgeous.

Christmas Words - Let it Snow

By this time in December, I really want snow. But only for Christmas! LOL! I am a fair weather girl, but nothing beats waking up to a winter wonderland on Christmas morning...

My second submission for this months Christmas words challenge is SNOW.... as in Let it Snow! ;) So what else could I use but snowflakes & lots of them?

Karen's large Snowflake Wreath was the perfect starting point for this project. I also used pieces from Snowflakes 712, Snowflakes 713, and Snowflakes 714. And since I LOVE her wooden Small Marked Reindeer, I used another one of them from my DT package.

All of the wooden and chipboard pieces were then sprayed with a good layer of Heidi Swapp's Gold Colour Shine. Once they were dry, I started assembling the wreath, adding some greenery from Tim Holtz's Holiday Greens dies, some berries that were punched out of red paper and some bling to spruce up the middle of the snowflakes. I used a Memory Box die & cut out the Let It Snow title from the centre of the die. 

I put everything on a black mat, then matted it all on a super glittery gold paper. I think it just pops and will be a centre piece on my Christmas mantle this year.

"Merry Christmas" Vintage Card

Happy Monday! I hope your weekend was full of crafty projects. It's my turn back on the blog today with a vintage Merry Christmas card. Just a reminder that there are still 17 days to participate in our Monthly Challenge featuring Christmas Words. Head here to see all of the details on how to enter and add your project. 

Supplies Used: SRTC - Merry Christmas Greetings Pack, Leafy Frame and Assorted Flowers. Emerald Creek - Onyx Frost Embossing Powder. Tsukineko/Imagine Crafts - VersaMark. Maja Designs - 6x6 "Home for the Holidays". Bazzill Cardstock - Brown Cardstock. Ranger - Ground Espresso Distress Ink and Blending Tool.

The chipboard pieces that I used on my card are the Merry Christmas Greetings Pack and Leafy Frame. To start, I separated the Merry Christmas word with scissors so that I could place the "Merry" at the top of the card and "Christmas" at the bottom of the card. For the words and the leafy frame, I went overtop of them with Ground Espresso Distress Ink. Once I was happy with the coverage of the ink, I covered the words and leafy frame lightly with VersaMark. Once the VersaMark is on the chipboard pieces, I sprinkled over Onyx Frost embossing powder from Emerald Creek and embossed it with a heat tool. Below are pictures of how the chipboard pieces look once embossed. To finish off my leafy frame, I added the old fashioned santa picture to the frame and then added an assortment of flowers to the top right and bottom left hand corners of the frame.
