Karen is sharing with you today, a fun boys layout !

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hi Karen Bearse today with a goofy, fun boys’ layout. I have a thrift shop book that I have
turned into an art journal type, photo book. I call it my “Favorite Book Project”. In it I am
creating fun inky pages using some of my favourite photos throughout my life that may not have
been scrap booked yet. The idea is the photos are very random with no chronological order. It
is also a great way to use my stash, favourite stamps or product. I keep the book near my table
for left over ink or paint. This is an ongoing project with no pressure to finish so I just enjoy
playing. A good tip when using book pages for layouts is to glue 2 pages together using a quality
glue stick to make the pages stronger. Glue stick has low water content and the pages won’t
wrinkle.

This is a photo when my boys were 2 and 8 months young. They have been best friends their
whole lives. Lucky for me they have always been willing to post for a pic!

I applied gesso to my gears with an old gift card to create a random sketchy look. Once dry add Distress Paint.

I used Ferro through a stencil for the stars. One of the things I love about this product is the
finished look is gritty & sparkles. It also dries very quickly for a dimensional type product. To adhere the Lego pieces I used dimensional glue dots. For the Lego boys & chippies Glossy
Accents was used.

I hope June is lovely where ever you are and you join us in our monthly contest!
