Hoppy Easter Reverse Canvas with Katelyn Grosart

Hey there Southern Ridge Trading Company fans, Katelyn here. It's hard to believe that Easter will be here soon, so today I've created a fun Easter reverse canvas which is perfect to add to your Easter  home decor. Read below and learn how I transformed my chipboard pieces to create my Hoppy Easter Reverse Canvas.

To start, cover the Easter Basket in a layer of Emboss It ink. Once the ink has been applied, cover the entire basket with Weathered Wood Embossing Powder. Tap off the excess powder and then emboss with your heat tool. Set the Easter Basket aside to cool down.

Next, you'll want to choose which Easter Eggs you want. I ended up choosing the large and small Detailed Easter Eggs as well as a medium Filigree Easter Egg. Once you've chosen your eggs, take a piece of chipboard and trace your eggs on it. Cut out your eggs. Once the backing eggs have been cut out, apply a layer of Emboss It ink to each egg. With the ink on each egg, cover the large egg with Pastel Pink Embossing Powder, the medium egg with Pastel Lilac Embossing Powder and the small egg with Easter Parade Embossing Powder. Using a heat tool, emboss each egg. To finish the eggs, ink the edges using Walnut Stain Distress Ink.

With your Easter Eggs chosen, apply a layer of Emboss It ink to each egg. Using a heat tool, emboss each egg. To finish the eggs, ink the edges using Walnut Stain Distress Ink.

With the fronts and backs of the Easter Eggs finished, adhere the large Easter Egg front to the large Easter Egg back. Adhere the medium Easter Egg front to the medium Easter Egg back. Adhere the small Easter Egg front to the small Easter Egg back.

Next, you'll want to pull out the Easter Wood Tags and choose whichever sentiment you'd like. To start, ink the entire wood tag using Spun Sugar Distress Paint. Before the paint completely dries, wipe a bit off the wood tag using hand sanitizer on a piece of paper towel. Once your happy with the amount of paint off the tag, using a blending tool, apply a layer of Walnut Stain Distress Ink over the entire surface. You can either go light or heavy with the ink, depending on how noticeable you'd like it on your Easter Basket.

The last piece of chipboard you'll need is a 3" piece from the Grass Border. With the border cut, apply two layers of Bundled Sage Distress Paint over the entire surface. Set grass aside to dry.

Here are a few close ups of the flowers on the finished reverse canvas.

And here is the finished Hoppy Easter Reverse Canvas.
