Hello and Welcome, Ava here to showcase how you can upcycle
My heart box was similar to this box above. I saved my valentine’s box for a few years, waiting for embellishment inspiration to spark my creativity.
Well, Southern Ridge Trading Company did it. The chipboard I found in the store, was perfect for upcycling the heart shaped box.
To get this mix’d media look to my heart I was inspired by some of my favourite products.
I gesso coated the chipboard pieces and painted my chipboard with DecoArt paints.
I mixed my paints to match the colour of my heart shaped box. I got out my Southern Ridge Trading Company stencil and applied modelling paste to the lid of the box.
Next up is to treat the chipboard pieces from Southern Ridge Trading Co. I painted the the following chipboard pieces with Deco Art paints and applied a gloss medium to the hearts.
Mini Connected Hearts, and Swirling Hearts,
Winnie and Walter is my go to stamp set with a lovely script and a variety of sentiments.
This stamp set is called The big, The bold and the Happy.

Clearsnap Color Box pigment ink was perfect for this vintage stamping of the word l o v e .
Sprinkle some Stampendous rose coloured chips, onto the box lid where you have applied a layer of liquid adhesive. Press the chips into the adhesive to ensure adhesion.
Apply some adhesive pearl drops and adhere your dried painted chipboard pieces to the lid of the box with liquid glue.
I was thrilled to find that Die Cut’s with a View (DCWV) have the perfect paper match with colour and texture to embellish the bottom and inside panels of the heart box. This paper truly complement the chipboard piece designs, as yummy as a chocolate creme truffle.
The inside of the heart box is so decadent. After adhering the cardstock I hot glued a flower with some stick pins to the plastic clam shell insert.
Apply your favourite ribbon. This May Arts beaded lace ribbon is an instant easy embellishment. So romantic and vintage…. (Sigh) This view of the chocolate heart box takes me back to imagine the victorian days of vintage lace.
Now some photo’s of the finished heart shaped box.
