Merry Christmas Card with Katelyn Grosart

Hey there Southern Ridge Trading Company fans, Katelyn here and I'm back on the blog today to share with you some inspiration from our current monthly challenge which is all about "Christmas/Winter". Today I've got a Christmas card for you that will be sure to inspire you to create. Grab a cup of coffee or tea and learn how I transformed my chipboard pieces to create the perfect additions to my Christmas card. Before we get started, I want to wish you all a happy Remembrance Day and thank those who have fallen, those who have fought for our country and those who are still fighting for our country. Thank you!

To start, take out six Mini Wood Snowflakes. Cover each snowflake in a layer of VersaMark Ink. Once the ink has been applied, sprinkle Soft Fallen Snow Embossing Powder overtop of the snowflakes. Tap off the excess powder and emboss with a heat tool. Set the snowflakes aside to cool.

Once the snowflakes have cooled, add transparent glitter/gold glitter dots to the centre of the snowflakes.

Take out another six Mini Wood Snowflakes and blend Vintage Photo Distress Ink overtop of each snowflake.

Take out two snowflakes from Snowflakes 712. Cover each snowflake in a layer of VersaMark Ink. After the ink has been applied, sprinkle Soft Fallen Snow Embossing Powder overtop of the snowflakes. Tap off the excess powder and emboss with a heat tool. Set the snowflakes aside to cool.

Apply VersaMark Ink to the large Vintage Oval Mirror. Sprinkle Gold Tinsel Embossing Powder to the oval mirror frame. Tap off the excess powder and emboss with a heat tool.

Cut two pieces from the Snowflakes background piece to fit in the top left and bottom right hand corners. Apply VersaMark Ink to each snowflake piece and sprinkle White Melt Art Embossing Powder overtop. Tap off the excess powder and emboss with a heat tool. If the embossing powder didn't completely cover the pieces, apply another layer of VersaMark Ink, sprinkle white Melt Art Embossing Powder overtop and emboss with a heat tool. Set the snowflakes aside to cool.

Cut apart one of the Merry Christmas words from the Merry Christmas Greeting Pack. Apply VersaMark Ink to the Merry Christmas word. Sprinkle White Melt Art Embossing Powder overtop of the word and tap off the excess powder. Emboss with a heat tool. Set aside the word to cool.

Now it's time to assemble the card.

Adhere one of the snowflake bunches to the bottom left hand corner of the striped patterned paper. Adhere the second snowflake bunch to the top right hand corner of the striped patterned paper.

Adhere the blue snowflake patterned paper over top of the striped paper. Foam square the mirror frame in the middle of the blue snowflake paper. Once the frame is adhered in the middle, roll the top right and bottom left hand corners up.

Here's a close up of the snowflake corners that are adhered to the striped patterned paper.

Adhere the Merry Christmas word to the middle of the frame.

Adhere three Vintage Photo snowflakes underneath the right hand side of the decorative part of the frame. Once those snowflakes are adhered, adhere the other three Vintage Photo snowflakes underneath the left hand side of the decorative part of the frame.

To finish the frame, add the rest of the snowflakes to the top left and bottom right hand sides of the frame. After the snowflakes have been adhered, add Tan, Light Blue and Dark Blue flowers by the snowflakes.

Here is the card with all the elements together.
