Floral Happy Birthday Card with Katelyn Grosart

Hey there Southern Ridge Trading Company fans, Katelyn here. Spring is here and inspiration is everywhere. With Spring in mind, I've created this vintage Floral Happy Birthday Card perfect for that special someone in your life.  You'll want to read below as I share with you how I created my Floral Happy Birthday Card.


To start, choose a Happy Birthday sentiments from the Birthday Greetings. Blend Vintage Photo Distress Ink over top of the Happy Birthday sentiment. Once the ink has dried, lightly rub Bronze Age Metallique Wax over top of the sentiment.


Take out one of the Delicate Lace Element chipboard from the package. Cut the element apart two create two pieces. Blend Vintage Photo Distress Ink over top of each piece. Once the ink has dried, lightly rub Bronze Age Metallique Wax over top of each piece.


With the Delicate Lace Element chipboard still out, take another piece from the package. Cut the element apart down the center creating two pieces. Apply two coats of Spun Sugar Distress Paint over top of each piece. Once the ink has dried, rub Walnut Stain Distress Crayon over the edges of each piece.


Place the Small Oval Frame overtop of a piece of patterned paper from Authentique's Stitches paper. Trace the inside of the frame onto the piece of patterned paper. Cut the patterned paper oval out. Ink the edges of the oval using Vintage Photo Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.


With the Small Oval Frame still out, apply one coat of Art Alchemy Acrylic Metallique Paint in Vintage Rose. Once the paint has dried, apply a coat of Spun Sugar Distress Ink to the frame. After the second coat of paint has dried. Rub Walnut Stain and Vintage Photo Distress Crayon around the edges of the frame.


From the blue gingham patterned paper, cut a piece that measures 1 3/4" x 5 1/2". Tear along the bottom part of the patterned paper piece. Ink the edges of the patterned paper piece using Vintage Photo Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.


From the Ruler patterned paper, cut a piece that measures 1" x 5 1/2". Ink the edges of the patterned paper piece using Vintage Photo Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.


From the Plaid patterned paper, cut a piece that measures 3/4" x 5 1/2". Ink the edges of the patterned paper piece using Vintage Photo Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.


From the blue gingham patterned paper, cut a piece that measures 6" x 6". From the backside of the blue gingham patterned paper, cut a piece that measures 5 1/2" x 5 1/2". Ink the edges of the patterned paper pieces using Vintage Photo Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.


Adhere the floral patterned paper to the blue gingham patterned paper.


Adhere one of the delicate lace element halves 3/4" from the left of the blue gingham patterned paper. Adhere the other half of the delicate lace element 3" from the right of the blue gingham patterned paper.
Adhere the plaid patterned paper to the middle of the ruler patterned paper. Adhere the ruler patterned paper to the middle of the blue gingham patterned paper piece. Adhere the blue gingham patterned piece overtop of the delicate lace element.


Adhere the one delicate lace element piece 1/8" from the top of the plaid patterned paper strip. Adhere the other delicate lace element 3/8" from the bottom of the plaid patterned paper strip.


Adhere the oval patterned paper piece to the middle of the single delicate lace elements. Adhere the small oval frame overtop of the oval patterned paper piece.


Adhere the Happy Birthday sentiment to the center of the small oval frame.


On the top right side of the small oval frame, adhere one large white carnations, two light pink roses, two dark pink roses, four red roses and two cream roses.


On the bottom right hand side of the small oval frame adhere one white carnation, four light pink roses, four dark pink roses, two red roses and four cream roses.


To finish the card, adhere the cardfront on a cardbase that measures 6" x 12", score at 6".
