A Dapper Happy Birthday Card with Katelyn Grosart

Hey Southern Ridge Trading Company fans, Katelyn here. Today, I've created for you a dapper Happy Birthday Card, that's perfect to give that special man in your life. You'll want to read below as I share with you how I created my dapper Happy Birthday card, so that you're able to recreate it at home.

To start, decide which Happy Birthday you'd like from the Birthday Greetings package and cut it out. Apply a coat of Emboss It Ink to the Happy Birthday. Sprinkle Rocky Road Baked Texture Embossing Powder overtop of the word. Tap off the excess powder and emboss with a heat tool.

Take the large Abstract Frame out of the package. Apply one coat of Little Black Dress paint to the entire surface of the frame. Once the paint has dried,  apply a coat of Emboss It Ink to the frame. Sprinkle Rocky Road Baked Texture Embossing Powder overtop of the frame. Tap off the excess powder and emboss with a heat tool.

Cut two pieces off of the Multi Gears Pattern piece. Apply a coat of Emboss It Ink to each Multi Gear Pattern piece. Sprinkle Burnt Copper Leaves Embossing Powder overtop of the gear pieces. Tap off the excess powder and emboss with a heat tool.

Take out one Roman Clock Face from the package. Apply a coat of Emboss It Ink to the clock. Sprinkle Ancient Amber Baked Texture Embossing Powder overtop of the clock. Tap off the excess powder and emboss with a heat tool. Once the powder has cooled, rub Black Soot Distress Crayon randomly over the clock face.

From the Nuts and Bolts package, take one of the labels out. Apply a coat of Emboss It Ink to the label. Sprinkle Ancient Amber Baked Texture Embossing Powder overtop of the label. Tap off the excess powder and emboss with a heat tool. Once the powder has cooled, rub Black Soot Distress Crayon randomly over the label.

Cut three pieces from the Honeycomb Pattern. Apply two coats of Walnut Stain Distress Paint to the honeycomb pieces.

From the Chain Border, cut two pieces that have 2 chains and cut two pieces that have 1 chain. Apply two coats of Hickory Smoke Distress Paint to each chain piece. Once the paint has dried, rub Hickory Smoke and Black Soot Distress Crayon around the edges of each chain piece.

From the Nuts and Bolts package, choose six nuts and bolts. Apply two coats of Little Black Dress Paint. Once the paint has dried, rub Brushed Pewter Distress Crayon overtop of the nuts and bolts.

Choose two pieces of patterned paper. Cut the first piece of patterned paper to 4 1/2" x 5 1/2". Cut the second piece of patterned paper to 4 3/4" x 5 3/4". Distress the edges of the papers with an edge distressor. Ink the edges of the patterned papers with Black Soot Distress Ink. Adhere the 4 1/2" patterned paper piece to the 4 3/4" patterned paper piece.

Place the brick stencil in the bottom right hand corner of the patterned paper and apply Emboss It Ink through the stencil. Lift the stencil up and sprinkle Burnt Copper Leaves Embossing Powder over top. Tap off the excess powder and emboss with a heat tool. Repeat the previous steps, but this time in the top left corner of the patterned paper.

Pick out a found relative. Cut the found relative down to 4 1/2". Round the bottom corners on the found relative card. Cut a piece of black cardstock that measures 3 1/8" x 4 5/8".

Adhere the found relative to the black cardstock piece. Adhere the black cardstock piece to the middle of the 4 1/2" patterned paper piece.

Adhere the abstract frame overtop of the found relative.

In the bottom right hand corner of the frame, adhere a two chain piece at the bottom of the frame and adhere the one chain piece going up on the right hand side of the frame.

Adhere a honeycomb pattern piece and a multi gear piece in the bottom right hand corner of the frame where the two chain pieces meet.

Overtop of the multi gear piece in the bottom right hand corner, adhere the label and Happy Birthday sentiment.

In the top left hand corner of the frame, adhere a two chain piece at the top of the frame and adhere the one chain piece going down the left hand side of the frame. Adhere the two honeycomb pattern pieces to each of the chain pieces.

Adhere the roman clock face and other multi gear piece where the two chain pieces meet in the top left hand corner.

Adhere three nuts and bolts down the bottom left hand side of the frame. Adhere the other three nuts and bolts at the top on the right hand side of the frame. To finish your card, cut a cardbase that measures 4 3/4" x 11 1/2". Score at 5 1/2". Adhere your cardfront to the cardbase.

Here are a few close up shots of my card.
