Making Mini Paintings with Tracy Moreau

Making holiday Ornaments doesn’t have to be overly taxing… Especially when you have one or two of these lovely little Laser cut frames on Hand. The dainty little things just cry out for Mini Paintings!! Being the festive season, I felt that a Christmas Tree was in Order.

I base the frame with a coat of  Bronze, and then apply a wash of Prussian blue to the top of the back panel. As Shown.

Add a little White to the Bottom portion blending it up and into the Prussian Blue. Brush the edges of the Frame with a Little Bahama Blue.

I added a small Christmas Tree in the centre of the back panel using a small angled shader and a mix of Greens ( Antique Green, Plantation Pine, Margarita) I then began adding a little snow to the ends of the branches with a touch of Warm White.

I decorated the Tree with tiny dots of red, blue, and Gold… and finally a star on top of the tree using Warm White.  Add a few tiny Dots of the Bronze to the background ( stars) Then pattern the panel with thinned Warm White.( Snow). Add some brighter White to the the Snow in the Fore ground to create texture.

A dry brush of Warm White to the top and bottom of the frame, and it’s ready to glue in place.

Add a small ribbon to hang and enjoy!
