Hello Tag with Ava Gavloski

Ava here to welcome you to another inspirational post at Southern Ridge Trading Co.

A designer has lots of options on how to apply treatment and techniques to chip board pieces. Today I will share one of those techniques. Take advantage of large solid surfaces of chipboard and emboss a design into the chipboard. Here is a tag I made with a vintage theme. Dry emboss your chipboard to get a great texture to your chipboard.

Experiment with your chipboard. In this case I dry embossed my chipboard 1st.

I then applied a thin layer of gesso, once dried I brushed the high embossed pattern with ink.

To prepare the tag, I gesso'd the tag, spray misted with tutti fruit Tattered Angels glimmer mist, dried and then applied a layer of texture paste through a stencil.

Think of the possibilities with these cat chipboard's. I went to the unexpected and gave you pink soft vintage romantic cats. (How about, Halloween orange, black moon cats or green mysterious cats). Yes, those are sequence eyes.

Once all the texture was dried, I adhered all the elements onto the tag and topped the tag with a sheer ribbon.

I hope this composition inspires you to check out the shop, order now to prep for Halloween and create with these fine detailed chipboard pieces.
