Blessed Card with Ruchi

Hello friends!! Ruchi here from Ruchi's Crafeteria and I'm back with my inspirational project.

Today I’ve created a card in Shabby Chic colours. Here it is..

I chose pastel shades for my card. Used Prima paper and adhered it in layers on my card base. Then applied texture paste using my own designed Damask stencil.
I picked Elegant Vintage Flourishes  and Butterfly Mix chipboards and heat embossed them in gold.

I've used my hot glue gun for pasting them on my card. just added a satin lace and a mulberry flower.

Lastly added some gold sequins here and there for completing the look of my card.

That’s it for today!! Hope you like my project. Don’t forget to check SRTC shop for these chipboards and some other awesome designs.

Journey Mini Album with Katelyn Grosart

Hey Southern Ridge Trading Company fans, Katelyn here. For today's post, I'm thrilled to share with you my Journey Mini Album that's perfect to add your own photos to or to give as a gift.  To embellish my Journey Mini Album, I featured a variety of our popular and western themed chipboard pieces. You'll want to read below as I share with you how I embellished the chipboard pieces for my mini album.

Here's the front cover of my mini album. For the base of my mini album, I used the plain chipboard mini album available on our website. The mini album measures 3 7/8" x 7 3/4".

To embellish around the photo, I used the Oval Chain Frame and three Mini Wood Horseshoes. The oval chain has two coats of Walnut Stain Distress Paint on it and the mini wood horseshoes were left plain. For the Journey Fun Word, I embossed it using Burnt Copper Leaves.

To embellish the top right side of my mini album, I used three Plain Banner and covered them with patterned paper.

Here's page 1 & 2.

To embellish the left side of Page 1, I cut out one of the cowboy boots from the Boots. I embossed it using Burnt Copper Leaves Embossing Powder. I chose one of the horses comes from the Horse Mix. To colour the horse, I used two coats of Walnut Stain Distress Paint.

To embellish the photo mat I used the Elegant Vintage Flourishes and Wood Horse Shoes. The elegant vintage flourish is embossed with the Weathered Wood Embossing Powder and the two wood horse shoes are embossed with Burnt Copper Leaves Embossing Powder. To add some extra interest to the flourish I added some flowers. To embellish around the two horse shoes, I added some fussy cut images and flowers.

Here's page 3 & 4.

In the top left corner of the photo mat I layered a Elegant Vintage Flourish embossed with Weathered Wood Embossing Powder and a Wood Horse Shoe embossed with Burnt Copper Leaves Embossing Powder. To decorate the banner, I blended Ground Espresso Distress Ink over two Mini Wood Horse Shoes.

For page four, I repeated the same embellishments. This time the flourish and wood horse shoe is in the bottom right hand corner of the photo. Add two more wood horse shoes to the banner at the top of the page.

Here's page 5 & 6.

For the bottom of the photo mat, I embossed an Elegant Vintage Flourish with Burnt Copper Leaves Embossing Powder. Once the flourish was adhered at the bottom of the photo mat, I added a few flowers.

On the same page in the top left hand corner, I added two Mini Wood Horse Shoes which I blended Ground Espresso Distress Ink on to.

On page.6 I used the Scroll Borders and two Wood Horse Shoes. I blended Ground Espresso Distress Ink over the Scroll border. To embellish the Wood Horse Shoes, I embossed Burnt Copper Leaves Embossing Powder. I adhere the border down first and then the horse shoes over top of it.

And here is the back cover of my Journey Mini Album.

Spring Joy Mixed Media Reverse Canvas with Deb Riddell

Hello everyone, Deb Riddell here with you today to share a mixed media reverse canvas I made with Southern Ridge Trading Company’s Pussy Willows, Elegant Vintage Flourishes, Berry Branch Set and Bare Branches chipboard.

I started out with a 6” x 8” stretched artists canvas I had in my stash from a previous project that hadn’t gone quite as planned!

I finished off the edges of the wrapped canvas with some lengths of Tim Holtz Design tape.

The butterflies on the background of the canvas recess made me think of Spring so I painted Southern Ridge’s new Pussy Willow chipboard with Gathered Twigs Distress Stain.  While the stain was still damp, I added dabs of diluted Yellow Green Light and Titanium White DecoArt Media Liquid acrylic paint to the buds on the pussy willows for a ‘fuzzy’ appearance.  The white was a little too stark so I toned it down with a bit of Golden Titan Buff.

A Berry Branch got the same treatment and I also added some dabs of Liquid Glass to a few of the berries for a little shine.

And finally, a Bare Branch was also painted in the same manner but only a few touches of Yellow Green Light and Titanium White were added to this piece.

Two Elegant Vintage Flourishes were painted with Titan Buff and then a bit of DecoArt Media Interference Gold was added overtop for a touch of shimmer.

The best part of Spring for me is the return of the songbirds, so I decided to add a wee robin to my canvas.  A Fragment was inked with a combination of Mushroom and Latte alcohol inks and then a drop or two of rubbing alcohol was added to the middle of the inked Fragment to from a ‘window’.

A bird stamp (this is from a discontinued Crafty Secrets stamp set) was stamped onto the Fragment with StazOn Jet Black ink on the same side as the alcohol ink.

After the StazOn had thoroughly dried, the bird was coloured here and there with alcohol inks (Rust, Red Pepper and Ginger) with Ranger’s Alcohol Ink Blending Pen on the same side as the stamping.

To continue the bird theme, some vintage bird and egg images were printed and punched out with a ¾” punch and made into tags with Tim Holtz’s Tag Press.  The Tap Press rings were coloured with Rust and Ginger alcohol inks before compressing them with the Tag Press.

Typography letters to spell the word ‘Spring’ were coloured with Ginger alcohol ink and adhered to one of the long edges of the reverse canvas.

A Quote Chip was coloured with Antique Linen and Vintage Photo Distress ink and adhered to the opposite long edge.

One of the Elegant Vintage Flourishes was adhered to the top edge of the canvas and a couple of paper flowers were inked and added to each corner. A tag was added to the center of each flower.  For a bit more shimmer, a touch of Indian Gold Nuvo Mousse was brushed onto the Elegant Vintage Flourish.

A piece of light beige paper was added to the back of the Fragment with Glossy Accents and once dry the Fragment was adhered onto the top right corner of the reverse canvas recess.

The Pussy Willows, Berry Branch and Bare Branch were added under the bottom edge of the reverse canvas.  I had some Nuvo Mousse left over on my craft mat so I diluted it with some water and spattered it over the canvas, also adding a few touches of Platinum Stickles Glitter glue here and there on the Pussy Willows, Berry Branch and Bare Branch.

And finally, the second Elegant Vintage Flourish was added along the bottom edge of the canvas along with a couple more paper flowers and the remaining tags.

I hope that you’ve enjoyed seeing my Spring Joy mixed media reverse canvas, I’m hoping that it will help bring Spring early to us here in B.C.!

Explore Card by Corina Finley

Hello!

For today's post, I am sharing a layered card with 2 pieces of Southern Ridge Chipboard. For the Pattern paper and colour scheme, I went into my scrap bin. A few years back, I created a mini Album with this paper line and I found numerous left over pieces to use for this card.

For the 2 chipboard pieces, I covered both with Multi Media glue and sprinkled each with Micro Fine Glitter. Royal Red for the Explore Fun Word and Champagne for the Elegant Vintage Flourishes. I allowed it to dry fully before taping the excess off.

I used a Tag Dies and a set of multi-sized Rectangle Stitched Dies with my Big Shot to cut my paper layers for the card. I added some vintage ephemera to the tag and a piece of green seam binding to the tag.
