Congrats Wedding Card with Katelyn Grosart

Hey Southern Ridge Trading Company fans, Katelyn here. For today's post, I'm thrilled to share with you this Congrats Wedding Card that was given away last weekend to the happy couple.  To embellish my Congrats Wedding Card, I featured a variety of our popular frames and border chipboard pieces. You'll want to read below as I share with you how I embellished the chipboard pieces for my card.

To start, you'll need to cut out the two hearts from the Classy frame. Apply a layer of Emboss It Ink to the two chipboard hearts. Sprinkle Glacier White Embossing Powder overtop of the hearts and tap off the excess powder. Emboss with a heat tool. Apply a layer of Emboss It Ink to the now embossed hearts. Sprinkle White Satin Pearl Embossing Powder overtop of the hearts and tap off the excess powder. Emboss with a heat tool.

Next you'll need one Scroll Border. Cut the border in half. Apply a layer of Emboss It Ink to both Scroll Border pieces. Sprinkle Glacier White Embossing Powder overtop of the scroll pieces and tap off the excess powder. Emboss with a heat tool. Apply a layer of Emboss It Ink to the now embossed scroll borders. Sprinkle White Satin Pearl Embossing Powder overtop of the scroll pieces and tap off the excess powder. Emboss with a heat tool.

The last chipboard element I needed for my card was the large Abstract Heart Frames. Using a blending tool with foam and Ground Espresso Distress Ink, blend the ink over the entire surface of the heart frame.

Once all the patterned papers have been layered together and the lace has been added, I then adhere one scroll border to the bottom right side of the heart frame and the other scroll border to the top left corner of the heart frame. Adhere the traced paper heart to the abstract heart frame. Foam square the abstract heart to the middle of the patterned papers. Adhere your sentiment to the middle of the patterned paper heart. Adhere a few pearls at the top of the word and at the bottom of the word.

In the bottom right side of the heart, I adhered one extra large white flower, three large cream roses, three medium white flowers and three white small flowers as well as one of the chipboard hearts.

In the top left corner of the heart, I adhered one extra large white flower, three large cream roses, three medium white flowers and four white small flowers as well as the other chipboard heart.

Here's the finished Congrats Wedding Card.

Tea Bag Dispenser with Jessica Kaiser

Hello crafty friends!

It’s Jess here today to share a very "tea-lightful" project…….

a Tea Bag Dispenser!!

I had printed this tutorial off YEARS ago from Splitcoast Stampers, and recently came across my printout, so I decided to make it this week and accent it with BEAUTIFUL chipboard!!

Here are the pieces from Southern Ridge that I used:

Ok!  So this cute little project just needs a piece of cardstock that is 6x12 inches.  I followed the cutting guide HERE.  I used the gorgeous Swooping Birds and Tags chipboard items to decorate this sweet box.  To color my chipboard pieces, I used Nuvo Embellishment Mousse.  Simply sponge it on and it dries very quickly!  I also added a bit of blue spray inks to the tag (which I also added some "T-E-A" wooden letters).

I used my Tombow Mono White Glue to adhere the chipboard pieces to my tea box. It is really an easy assemble - I'm definitely going to make a few gifts for the upcoming season!!!  I also accented the top with a flower chipboard piece (I believe it's been discontinued, but you can find a similar flower in the Deb's Strawberry Angel Kit).  Some pearls were added at the end along with a bit of ribbon and bakers twine. I really love how quickly this project came together and what a perfect gift giving idea this could be!!!

Now it’s your turn to head out and create your own Tea Box Gifts!  Thanks for checking out my project!

Jess

Altered Hat with Tracy Sagriff

Today's project is a little bit steampunk and a whole lot of shabby chic. The pretty colours and fun diecuts make this project come to life.

Begin by painting the entire hat with rose gold. Be sure to get the bottom of the brim.

Once dry paint use white paint from the brim of the hat to the edge of the faux hat band. Then paint the uppermost part of the brim white.

Distress  the paint using sandpaper or wire brushes.

Use the rose gold paint and the stencil to create a pattern over the white paint.

Apply dollar store gems around the top and bottom of the faux hat band.

Paint the bird and pocketwatch pieces bronze.

Paint the leaves and flourish with green and turquoise.

Arrange rolled paper flowers and adhere to hat.

Adhere the remaining pieces as desired.

Steampunk Wreath with Erin Quiding-Sampson

Hello 😊 I’m back this week to share with you, my newest, favourite project. My steampunk wreath!
To start off this wreath, I used a 12-inch wreath frame and a roll of deco mesh.

I used pipe cleaners to hold the mesh onto the frame. I then added some gold and silver tulle that I cut into 8-inch-long pieces, folded them in half lengthwise and fastened the center onto the wreath, with more pipe cleaners.

Next, I used embossing ink on my chipboard pieces and covered them all with emerald creek embossing powder, in Patina Oxide (can I just say, you NEED to try this embossing powder with our chipboard!! Its fantastic!)

After the pieces were embossed and cooled off, I sprayed them with a teal shimmer spray. I set those aside and worked on my top hat. I sprayed the top hat with 2 tones of chocolate shimmer spray and added some feathers to the back of it.
I then got out the trusty glue gun – I added the large Steampunk piece, the cogs, the hat and a few peacock feathers.
To finish it off I added a large pipe cleaner to the back for hanging.

Amazing Scrapbook Layout with Katelyn Grosart

Hey Southern Ridge Trading Company fans, Katelyn here. For today's post, I'm excited to share with you my Amazing Scrapbook Layout. This layout is special to me as they are photos of Butchart Gardens where my now fiance proposed to me. The pictures are of the beautiful rose garden.  So to embellish my layout, I featured a variety of our popular and frames and words. You'll want to read below as I share with you how I embellished the chipboard pieces for my layout.

To start, I applied two coats of Spun Sugar Distress Paint to the Oval Arrow Frame. Once the paint had dried, I applied Walnut Stain Distress Crayon to the frame and rubbed it in with my finger.

For the Rod Iron Circle Frame, I applied a coat of Emboss It Ink to the frame. Sprinkle Glacier White Embossing Powder over top of the frame. Tap off the excess powder and emboss with a heat tool.

Choose and cut out two butterflies from the Small Butterfly Mix. Apply a coat of Emboss It Ink to both butterflies. Sprinkle Light Pink Embossing Powder over each butterfly. Tap off the excess powder and emboss with a heat tool.

The last chipboard element I embellished was the Amazing Fun Word. Using a blending tool with foam, blend Ground Espresso Distress Ink over the entire surface of the word.

After all of my fussy cut flowers have been adhered, I adhered one of the embossed butterflies in the top right side of the flowers. Once the top right butterfly is adhered, adhere the other butterfly in the bottom left side of the flowers.

Adhere one of the photos to the Oval Arrow Frame and then foam square the frame on the top left side of the flowers. Adhere the other photo to the rod iron circle frame and then adhere the frame to the right of the oval arrow frame.

With the frames adhered, adhere the amazing word over top of each frame.

To finish off around the frames and word, I adhered a variety of pink and white roses.
