Altered Tag with Deonna Riegler

Hello all my artistic friends,
This is just a little bonus project I made for the Southern Ridge Trading Company Design team.

I saved all the punched out pieces that were left after making my projects and the rectangle was from the coral chipboard piece.

I cut out a tag and positioned the rectangle so there was a hole near the top.  I applied mod podge to the tag and placed the small pieces in a grouping I liked.  I then placed the larger rectangle around the pieces.

I dried the entire tag with a heat gun and added paint, shimmer glaze and added pewter coloured embossing powder to select areas.  I inked the edges with grey ink for a finished look and added numerous pieces of fabric and ribbons.

I hope you enjoy this little crafty tip!
Happy crafting,
Deonna

Memories & Blessed Stand Up Canvas with Laura Gilhuly

Good Morning!
I hope you all had a very Merry Christmas and all your holiday wishes came true!

This year I made many gifts for friends...this is one for a very dear and sweet friend who has become like family

I started with the medium wood stand up canvas and covered it with gesso, I then used the small heart stencil with texture paste and allowed to dry naturally.  I layered different colours of grey and turquoise mists.

I embossed the title, mini connected hearts, and border pieces

I followed the same process for the other side

To add some more visual interest I added some lights!

Life Is A Journey of the Soul Scrapbook Layout with Deonna Riegler

Good morning Crafty Friends,
This post was fun for me.  I used some old items in new ways.

I used the frame piece and the saying “Life is a journey of the soul” and the snowboarder from Southern Ridge Trading Company.  I painted them first with a white paint and let them dry. I then found some really old mica flakes in a mason jar that had been my grandma’s (at least 50 plus years old and she was the original crafter, lol) and some small broken glass pieces.  I started my first layer at the top the snowboard and worked my way down creating layers to look like snow shooting off the board as it slices through the snow. I covered the snowboarder’s body in mod podge and took the broken glass pieces and sprinkled them all over to cover and look like he had been covered in snow on his way down the mountain.  This piece was very heavy and loaded with modge podge so it took a while to dry. I took an additional title to complete my page and coloured it the same way. I then covered the saying with clear matte finish.

While all pieces were drying I cut and mated my photo and papers. I adhered the two chipboard pieces with strong liquid glue and pop dotted the matted photo it to add dimension and put it all together.

The results I think show a fun filled day in the snow!

Joy Christmas Card with Monica Edwards

Hello everyone tomorrow is Christmas Eve so of course I had to share something for the holidays!  I created this Christmas card using Small Merry Deer mix and Wreath.

I first applied some green glitter glue to my wreath and heat set it.  Once done I then used some Nuvo Drops for the berries on my wreath.

For my deer I coloured him with a Zig pen which works beautifully on the chipboard.

I popped on a diecut sentiment and pieced it all together to complete the look.

Hi Southern Ridge Trading Company Fans!!! Pam here today sharing my Merry Christmas Tag!!! What better way to finish your Christmas or holiday packages by creating a few fabulous embossed tags using Southern Trading Company Chipboard!

The Merry Christmas tag is super easy to create. First, start by covering your tag with your favourite pattern paper. I used Graphic 45 Magic Christmas for my tag.

Next, paint your Southern Ridge Trading Company Merry Christmas Sentiment, Abstract Circle Frame and Flourish Christmas Tree with white gesso. Dry. Emboss each piece with Emerald Creek Craft Supplies Embossing Powder.

Adhere prepared Merry Christmas Sentiment to bottom of tag.

Adhere prepared  Abstract Circle Frame to top of pattern paper; fussy cut around edges. Adhere to top of tag.

Adhere embossed Flourish Christmas Tree to top of Abstract Circle Frame. Fussy cut images from pattern paper. Add to front of tag. Fussy cut second set of images; place on top of first images with pop dots to give added dimension to tag.

Well, we are definitely getting close to the big day, and I’m so excited!! Karla here today with some pretty ornaments created with the Southern Ridge Ornament Chipboard Set, Snowflakes 712 and Mini Sleighs wood veneer. I’ve even created a video for you below showing how I layered on some pretty paints, embossing powders and mists to customize them.

Here’s a link to the video where you can see my process.

I had so much fun with these ornaments. They are quick and easy to decorate and would be great as package toppers, perfect to embellish a Christmas scrapbook page, as an ornament gift set, or even on your own tree! Altered Christmas Wine Bottle with Laura Gilhuly

Good morning!
Christmas is upon us and to help put me in the Christmas spirit I like creating Christmas crafts!

To create this I emptied a wine bottle and covered it in 3 layers of gesso, added some crackle paste and allowed to dry.  I then layered different colours of mists then added some embossing paste through the Southern Ridge circle stencil, and added some silver embossing powder and heat set it

My husband soaked the 'Believe' chipboard and 'Holly berry branch' in water for 24 hours then shaped it around the bottle and glued it down for me

I painted the pieces then dry brushed some gesso on it.

I added lots of baubles and poinsettias then added some white gesso to give it a frosty look!
