Hello (A very Chippy layout!)

Hey there SRTC fans! I wanted to share this layout I made using this fabulous 12x12 flourish sheet that Karen made! As soon as I saw it I thought it would be awesome to punch out all the flourishes that came on this sheet and use the negative space on a layout...I was right!! I just LOVE how it turned out!!

punching out all those fun little flourishes was a labor of love, but totally worth it! Plus, you get all the extra flourishes to use on future projects! How stinkin cool is that?!

Now, this fabulous piece isn't on the website, but if you emailed Karen at Keb@uniserve.com, she will gladly get one out for you! :)

Thanks for stopping by!!

Blessings,

It's Tea Time!!

Happy Monday, everyone and welcome to a new week! We are so thankful that you have decided to drop by today and hope to see you often!

For my card today I used the teapot and cup from the lovely HHP-327 set from the Household and People Section at Southern Ridge Trading Company:

hhp-327.jpg (400×460)

The base and double matting is from Cut Cardstock and the DP is from the First Edition Family Ties paper pad. The darling image is Anyone for Tea from the Art By Mi Ran shop. The image was colored with Copics and Promarkers and after matting I put some pre-gathered yellow lace around the panel. The teapot and cup were painted with yellow acrylic paint and coated with Glossy Mod-Podge. All flowers are from WOC: Trellis Rose, Cherry Blossoms, Cosmos Daisies, and Hip Rosebuds. I finally added some yellow pearls to soften all corners.

Thank you so much for your visit and until the next time, big hugs from Jacque!

Cards to share...

I have a couple of cards to share for my last Design Team upload for SRTC. Now that Karen & Eulanda have found a terrific creative team, it's time for me to step back & concentrate on my business & my daughter's Grad year. I've enjoyed my time working with you all & look forward to keeping tabs on what you're all creating!

My first card has a birthday theme & I loved using the lovely mighty oak tree Nat-333. Using Smooch again, the chipboard just sparkles. Add a die cut title & a brown bow around the base, you have a great card for anyone on your list!

My last card is a Thank You one and I LOVED the GAR-284-1 set. I used Tattered Angels Mist in a blue/silver for the arch way, then inked the grass area with a green ink & covered the ink with Marshmallow Glimmer Mist to keep with the "sparkle" theme. I added the little wrought iron gate GAR-280 in the middle & used Inka Gold to give it it's wrought iron look. A die cut Thank You finishes this card off with a couple little butterfly  & flower punchies on there!

Thanks again for looking & for your comments on my projects while I was here sharing with you! Happy Creating to you all! Cheers! :)

Celebrating a favourite book

A mixed media art journal page to celebrate one of my favourite books of all time, The Famished Road by Ben Okri. I have actually written the first and last chapter of the book on the background of this page.
I used a couple of Chipboard pieces (including FLW-001) to make magical planet like objects in the sky, to co-ordinate with my soft subtle colors : pink, blue and yellow. I painted them with acrylic paints.
I wanted this to be a dreamy unrealistic page ... because our dreams can take us anywhere, hence the quote : A dream can be the highest point of a life.
Thanks for visiting, hope you found some inspiration here :)

By the Sea

Have I ever got a loaded card to share with you today!!  It's been awhile since I've shared a Magnolia but I made this one at a crop I went to some time ago.

I masked 2 images together called "Aquarius Tilda" and "Oyster w/Pearl" and used some gorgeous papers from Live and Love Crafts called "Shoreline Treasures" by Pion Designs.

I've used 2 fun chipboard pieces from Southern Ridge Trading Company and my first being this super cute starfish (NAT-320).  I covered it with Tim Holtz paint dauber first and then his Rock Candy and thanks to a friend, she pointed out that it has a bit of glitter in it.  I DIDN'T KNOW THAT otherwise I would have had my own months ago!  BUT good to know now!!

My 2nd piece of chipboard from SRTC is this super cute piece of coral.  LUV IT!!  I altered it the same way as I did the starfish above. (NAT-331).

How cute is this resin seahorse?!  OMG!!  One of those HAD TO HAVE things.  hee hee  And how gorgeous is this lace from LLC called "Sophie"?!!

I really enjoyed decking this card out with my usual supplies including the sailboat charm and rolled flower from LLC.

And lastly my colored image.  I actually managed to get a good enough shot so you can see the glitter on the pearl.  I luuuuuv glitter!

Thanks for stopping by!

It's Vacation Time!!

Hello Southern Ridge Fans! Sarah Moore here with my first post as part of the SRTC Design Team! I'm very excited to be a part of this team!

I really love this Summer Vacation chipboard piece! It just makes choosing a title soooo much easier!

I wanted it to look like it had an ombre finish to it, so I got out my gelatos and just smudged em on there! Easy peasy!

I thought this flower from the set FLW-005 would be a really fun summer embellishment! Those of you who know me know that I'm not much of a floral type of girl, but I love an embellishment that can be used in more than one way, and these flowers are definitely that! I first coloured them with some prima inks and then blended them with a little water on a sponge. Once they were dried, I used Versamark and some UTEE and topped the big one off with a fun flair and there you have it! A super fun summery embellishment!

I'd love to see your creations that you make with Southern Ridge chipboard! Come and show it off on our facebook group!

Blessings!

Shabby Perfume Bottle

A very Happy Sunday to everyone!! We are so happy that you have dropped by and we hope to see you often. We will be showing you the individual ways that we use the wonderful products from the Southern Ridge Trading Company shop.

I have used one of the Perfume Bottles - HHP-326, painted it with acrylic paint and finished it with Silver EP for the cap and Shabby Pink Frantage for highlights. The image and label are from the latest Maja Designs collection, and finally I added a silky tassel, reminiscent of those old time perfume spritzers. This centerpiece was anchored with a paper doily. For the vertical I used a wide ruffled satin ribbon, two rows of pre-gathered lace and organza rosettes. Finally the front of the card was finished with a rosy cabochon, a double flat organza box and a tiny resin corner...and of course...lots of pearls!!

Hockey Stats layout

Have you been enjoying the amazing summer weather we've been having? It's so hot out, that I just had to return to the ice to get another page done in my son's hockey album using more of the great chipboard & wood shapes from SRTC

The hockey player is one of four great shapes that come in the SPO-291 kit. Again, I used smooch spray, this time in orange, to cover the chipboard shape. I just used a sharpie black felt to colour the puck. It is SO easy to customize colours of these great shapes for your pages & cards!!

The word HOCKEY is made of adorable wooden scrabble tiles, that will be on the website soon. Perfect little gems for doing your titles & it's not necessary to do a darned thing to them because they're so cute on their own!

Thanks for looking! :)

Remember to Breathe ...

Once I saw these little wooden trees, I knew they would make awesome bronchioles for a mixed media project. So began the creative process of making lungs featuring wooden trees .... I am loving the symbolism of this, the wood and trees being the source of our oxygen. The sentiment is all about how busy and stressful life can be, sometimes we have to remember to slow down and take a breath ...

Hope you find some inspiration here. Please take my advice and 'remember to breathe.....'

Clarabelle with Chipboard

Hi!  It's Eulanda and I'm back with another card featuring some fabulous pieces of chipboard from Southern Ridge Trading Company

I've used some gorgeous papers designed by Michelle Roos called "Clarabelle".  Luv them!!  The image is by Art by Miran  and this precious image is called "Molly".

The flourish by the flowers is the first chipboard piece I've used and it comes in a big sheet, which Karen sold at a recent crop I was at.  If you are interested please let me know and I can get back to you on the details.

I love making glitter butterflies.  I cut the first layer using my TH butterfly border with chipboard from SRTC, cut another piece using the papers from M R Designs and glued it down.  Then I adhered some double sided tape to some vellum and cut one more butterfly border die.  Once cut, I peeled back the tape, then dipped in GlitterRitz.  Sooooo pretttttyyyyy!  LOL!

The butterfly (INS-256) on the right is from Southern Ridge Trading Company which I dabbed with a white Tim Holtz dauber, let it dry and sprayed with a mist.
Loved adding these pearls and then I topped all the flowers off with Stardust Stickles.

Well I hope you have a wonderful and hopefully creative weekend!  Off to play with my sister.  YAY!!  hee hee

Memory Mixed Media Canvas

Hello Chipboard lovers! It's Cheri again with another canvas done for you using ALOT of Southern Ridge Trading Co laser cut chipboard. I had some fun with this one....of course cause it's ALL in pink! I have always found the more you create, whether it's cards, scrapbooks, paintings, sculpture, that the more you create, the easier it becomes, and since I've been trying to do something creative everyday.... I'm finally feeling the "mojo" and having much more fun! Maybe that's why I didn't even mind using SO MUCH chippy goodness on this one! hahaa! I'm also abit of a hoarder of supplies!

OK enough chit chat! Here's my pink creation!

Now! There's lots on there really.... I didn't intentionally cover it all up, but it happened somewhat!
From SRTC I have used:
~The Dress form under that pretty gauze
~The wood sign with the sentiment stamped on it.

Here's another look at that pretty butterfly flourish.

I hope you enjoyed my project. I will have a few more details on my blog if you want to drop by.
Thanks for checking this out!
Cheers
Cheri
