Merry and Bright!

Today I have a super sweet card using Michele R Designs papers and cupcake wrapper, however wait until you see what I have inside!  This set of papers is called "Merry and Bright" and I knew as soon as I saw it I was gonna have to use it because it has PINK in it!!  I LOVE non-traditional colors for Christmas and winter cards!

I distressed all edges with cocoa Momento ink as well as the poinsettia's.  The border frame (borders are my favorite!!!) is from Southern Ridge Trading Company.   FRA-130

The poinsettia's are from Dee's Distinctively dies, which you can layer up to make a small or big flower.  It's a very versatile set as it comes with 4 layers of flower.

The Tim Holtz snowflake border and a layer of the poinsettia's is corrugated white sparkle paper I bought from Micheal's half price and then 25% off my order!!  WHUT?!  YA!!  WOO!!

This image is from Ppinkydolls and is "Lily with Snowsisters" and awww she was fun to color!!  The present and wagon were a bit of a challenge because they were so small but OMG so stinkin' CUTE!!  I added some Stickles under her and I can't believe you can see them!  My Copic colors are listed below.

The wood "Joy" sentiment is also from Southern Ridge Trading Co. and comes in a variety set of 6.  XMAS-460  I distressed the top with cocoa Momento and then added Stickles on the top half.  How do you like my snowballs?!  ha haaaa haa!!

This box is from Michele R Designs "Merry and Bright" cupcake boxes.  It is soooo easy to make!!  Print out the template, cut, score and paste away!!  I added a strip of the corrugated white sparkle paper from Michael's, cut the center sentiment and flag strip that comes with the template and layered up with the wooden snowflakes.  Added a premade flower and tied together a twine bow and VOILA!  FINITO!

See?  Who says you have to put a cupcake inside?!!  YUMMAY!!!  These icy squares just melt in your mouth!!  I know, I had more than a few.  LOL!

I think this is my last Christmas card for this year.  Thanks so much for stopping by!!

Christmas gift tags

I wanted to share some simple, but gorgeous gift tags using the beautiful wooden deer XMAS-456
The background is fun and very sparkly, highlighting the deer perfectly. And the postmark from Santa makes a nice ground for the deer to be standing on.

Thanks for stopping by and wishing you a very Merry Christmas.

Merry and Bright

Hey there Southern Ridge fans! Sarah here with my last post as a DT member for Southern Ridge! I've had an awesome time being part of this team, but with 4 kids, my own business and 4 design teams, something's gotta go! Sadly, I'm leaving 3 out of 4 of my DT's, but I need to be able to give 110% to my family and job and I just can't do it all!

Anyway, I wanted to share a fun way to use the chipboard other than for your layouts! Anyone else doing a December Daily album? I'm trying, but so far I'm behind already! HA! Anyway, I wanted to decorate this gorgeous canvas album from Dear Lizzy, so I used the PAT-416 as a stencil and sprayed some Heidi Swapp Color Shine in 2 different greens. In order to do this and not get the line from the edge, I just used some scrap paper underneath the edges to  cover the album before misting :)

After I finished using the chipboard for a mask, I used it on this adorable layout to give it some texture!!

I used this fun sketch from Scrapbook Nerd for my inspration!

I love how the chipboard anchors my photos onto my layout :)

here's some close ups:

Thanks for stopping by!! I've had an awesome time on this team and I'm sad to go...Have a very Merry Christmas!!

It's a Fancy Christmas

It's my turn back on the blog and I hope that you have been enjoying all of the talented ladies and their projects on the blog this month.

To get you in the holiday mood, I thought it was time for a holiday layout. I had a ton of fun making this layout as it took me back to the first large display I have ever done in my professional career. Once again the chipboard is amazing and is all available at Southern Ridge Trading Company.

Here are all of the elements together on my layout.
Products used: SEA-165, and Bo Bunny: Altitude, Candy Cane Lane, Double Dot, and Double Dot Jewels.

View of SEA-165 which I added Tim Holtz Distress Glitter to, along with a pink jewel to give it some extra bling.
Products used: SEA-165, Double Dot Jewels, and Tim Holtz Distress Glitter: Pumice Stone.

Snowflakes from SRTC with some added bling.

Hopefully this has inspired you to get out your past holiday photos out to scrapbook them and add in some amazing chipboard from Southern Ridge Trading Company!

O Christmas Tree

For this card I used one of the gorgeous trees from the four pack : XMAS-154, coupled with the northern lights sponging technique for the sky :
The tree is painted with acrylic paint in green and gold and a sprinkling of glitter added. The tree is backed by a piece of glitter paper. I loved how the gold glitter shines through :

Christmas TAG | Using Wood Stars (wood-191)

Hello Everyone, the weekend is already over, ....time flies ....
in six and a half weeks we are already in the new year!!!
Okay, just kiddingThe Advent and Christmas season is much
too good  that we should skip it, right? I love the time :)
Today is my DT day here at Souther Ridge Company's Blog and
made a TAG for you. On the rosette I have placed this star
Normally it is made of wood and wood colored.   First, I added a
lot of white gesso, after that i embossed it with a white  embossing
powder puff and finally wiped the edges with walnut stain ink pad
So it gets a shabby touch.

Thanks a lot for stopping by today.
Hope you'll have a fantastic week,

best wishes for you and Hugs from Germany

Soar

Hey there bloggers! Sarah here today to share a fun layout I made using the Wel-039 set! I love welded chipboard words! They really add to the dimension on your layouts!

I have taken to using a hot glue gun to add a lot of my titles too because if you don't press it super firmly, it acts like a pop dot and gives it some nice dimension too!

I painted the chipboard title with some red paint, then I went over it with some white, not really caring if it went on perfectly or not to give it that painterly effect. I love the way it turned out. It adds so much texture to the letters!

here's what you get in the set that I used. I thought the Soar piece would be perfect for this layout!

thanks for stopping by!

Gear Mini Album

Happy Remembrance Day to all of our Canadian followers and Happy Memorial Day to all of our American followers on the blog!

I finally got to play with ALB-309 last weekend and I love the mini album. The gears on the front are amazing and full of opportunity. I will warn you, below it is top heavy in photos, so grab a cup of coffee and enjoy my gear mini album.

Front Cover: Inka Gold - Gold and Gold Brown.

Inside Cover: Inka Gold - Gold and Gold Brown. Page 1: Bo Bunny - "Somewhere In Time", Bazzill Cardstock.

Page 2: Bo Bunny - "Somewhere In Time", Bazzill Cardstock, Gears from SRTC. I inked the gears using Vintage Photo and Walnut Stain Distress Ink.  Page 3: Bo Bunny -"Somewhere In Time", Bazzill Cardstock, and flowers from SRTC. I inked my flowers using Vintage Photo Distress Ink and put the Sakura clear gel pen over the centers of the flowers.

Page 4 & 5: Bo Bunny - "Somewhere In Time", Bazzill Cardstock, SRTC - HHP-282, Flowers and leaves from SRTC and Melt Art - Gold Uttee.

I used the Gold Uttee on the key holes and embossed them. On the flowers I inked them with Vintage Photo Distress Stain and then added the clear Sakura Gel pen over top.

Page 6 & 7: Bo Bunny - "Somewhere In Time", and Bazzill Cardstock. I Glossy Accented the clocks in the bottom left and right hand corners.

Pimped up Stocking

So a few posts ago I said I would be here to share another stocking from Southern Ridge Trading Company and here is mine.  For starters I distressed the whole stocking with my Distrezz-It-All, (freakin' love that thing!) then distressed with Momento cocoa ink and added Gesso over top off EVERYTHING!  I too used Maja Designs "Vintage Frost Basics" for my stocking as Simone did.

Sometimes embellishments come in the cheapest forms.  My piece of corrugated cardboard layer was FREE!  You can't beat that huh?  The gorgeous lace is from LLC as well as that pearl center.  The resin stars are Melissa Frances and flowers from Wild Orchid.

Love this Tim Holtz poinsettia.  I layered using the Maja papers but one of my layers is vellum, which I adhered double sided tape to, peeled off and dipped into Glitter Ritz glitter to show a shimmery frosted leave layer.  The center was from LLC that I had in my stash and finally got a chance to use it.

I did the same thing with the wings.  Applied double-sided Sookwang tape to the vellum, cut the vellum with Magnolia doohickey wings, peeled off the double-sided tape and dipped in Glitter-Ritz.  LOVE this technique!

This is one of my favorite sentiment chipboard pieces from Southern Ridge Trading Company but you get 3 in the package so that's a bonus - Noel, Joy and Peace - XMAS-160.  I covered it with TH distress paint, let it dry and then added Martha Stewart texture over top.

More chipboard from SRTC, some Wild Orchid flowers and the nice big grey flower is Prima.

I luuuuuv my resin pieces but these angels are really super cute.  The rolled flowers are from LLC and same with the white Kort and Godt chrysanthemum.

This old vintage photo came from LLC too but I can't seem to find this one anymore.  However, there are still tons to choose from.

And there we have it!!  The 2nd stocking.  Thanks for popping by!
Hugs!
