Polley Pedal Pushers

Hey Everyone!!

Sarah here to show you a super cute layout using this awesome piece of SRTC chipboard "PAT-373"

I can't get enough of using raw chipboard and I love how you can take a pattern and cut it up to use it on multiple layouts!!

This picture was taken by my mother in law at the "Tour de Cariboo". It's a 75km bike race that raises money for the local Big Brothers and Sisters club. My husband and I have done it twice in a relay team and this year we got together a team consisting mostly of people from my husband's work "Mount Polley" hence the name of our team!! lol

Well, I'm off to spend some time with my husband before he goes fishing for a week!! Yikes!!

Have you joined our facebook group? It's full of inspiration from all of the Southern Ridge Design Team and also some pretty talented fans too!!

Blessings!!

Pretty Reindeer!

I know I know isn't it horrifying to note how close xmas is again already?!!  I thought this year I would get ahead but pffft - that is soooo not happening!!  LOL!!

This incredible guy is from Southern Ridge Trading Company under the Christmas & Holidays category #XMAS - 454.  It's wood, which I luuuuuuuv and all I did was add some ink to the edges to make it pop a bit.

Don't you love my Prima flower?!  Yup, I know I could probably make these but when I spend so much time making my cards already, it's nice and quick to grab a pre-made gorgeous flower!!

Feels good to post!  It's been awhile and life has been so hectic but I'm hoping it settles down for the winter now.  Famous last words right?!  ha ha ha ha ha!  Thanks for stopping by!

Hugs!

Kisses and Hugs in the Garden!!!

Happy Saturday and welcome to our blog today! We hope you have had a great week and are ready for a weekend of fun!

For my card today I used the beautiful garden gate GAR-284 at the Southern Ridge Trading Company shop.

The base and double matting is Bazzill and the DP is Bella Rose from First Edition. The image is Little Garden Sally colored with Copics and Promarkers. I decorated the cute garden scene with MS punched butterflies which I covered with Stardust Stickles and added some pink pearls. I added some tiny mulberry paper flowers and lots of mixed FlowerSoft for the forefront. The little tickets are Whimsy Love Mini Tickets cut out with Mini Ticket Die.

Here is the lovely chipboard piece which can be used in so many different ways:

Thank you so much for your visit today and we hope to see you again real soon!! Until the next time...big hugs from Jacque!!!

Brothers

Hey Everyone! Sarah here!

I wanted to pop in and share with you a wall hanging I made for my oldest son using KIT-379.

I painted it black with chalkboard paint before I put it all together. Then I had a lot of fun playing around and embellishing each square! I thought the quote was perfect for my oldest son because he is his little brother's Superhero! He's such a great big brother, we couldn't have been blessed more with him!

Here's some close ups:

I used my Silhouette and a cut file from The Cut Shoppe for the big words in the phrase.

I love all the possibilities this frame has! You can really dress it up if you want, and it gives you so many options for each square! I chose to use 4 pictures and embellish the rest of the squares, but you could put pictures in all the squares, or none at all! :)

Well there you have it! Thanks for stopping by!!

Blessings,

Winter Freeze...

This is my last design as guest designer, and have enjoyed being a part of the team.
I have done a winter layout using the Wel-023, welded words Winter Ice.
I inked the edges of the words and glittered them, then finishing them off with some Glossy Accents for some sheen.

The paper was a old line from Bo Bunny that I had leftover.

Ink, glitter, and Glossy Accents make these words stand out.

I used a snowflake punch, burlap trim , and some metals to make the corners pop.

Wonderful you

Recently I made a wedding card using pieces from WDG-310, the female silhouette/bride and sentiment 'love'. The other pieces in the set are a male figure and hearts. So I thought I would utilize these other pieces for a simple anniversary or male appreciation card :)
The male figure is painted with black acrylic. His bow tie, buttons and the smallest heart from the set WDG-310 are painted in a burgundy acrylic paint. I was very pleased when I realized the hearts actually came apart and I had three stunning hearts. Glitter embossing powder was used for the heart banner.
The sentiment 'wonderful' is debossed and detail added with a glitter pen. I love the contrast of the subtle glitter with the strong red heart.
I might give this to my hubby, we are approaching our 16th wedding anniversary :)

Beautiful Butterfly

Hi there, Kelly posting again with a great card I made using the Butterflies INS-526 that you can purchase at the Southern Ridge Trading Company.

All of the pieces are easily altered with ink, embossing powder and other mixed media.

I coloured the butterfly and applied glossy accents for a shimmer.

Merry Chipboard!!!

I LOVE CHRISTMAS! Well it might not be the "Christmas" part as much as it is preparing for the holidays. I love making crafts, love decorating (with a glass of wine) and enjoy all the salutations and best wishes we all hand over to each other around the festive season.  Plus, everyone is in such a great mood!  So this is my 2nd Christmas craft of the season so far but my 1st one won't be too far behind I promise!

I've used, what I am calling, a 3D shadow box, KIT-379 from Southern Ridge Trading Co. but it's not very deep, which was perfect for this project.  I covered it with some papers from Maja Designs "Vintage Frost Basics" and then distressed all with Momento cocoa ink.

Ok so get ready for a picture heavy post!  First up is my tree square freaturing XMAS-146 and for this one I covered with a TH paint dauber, added some Frost VersaMark and some UTEE chunky embossing powder.

Here I've done the same thing as above but added some Martha Stewart Texture for snow.

The wreath is a resin piece from Melissa Frances I purchased some time last year and the bells were from a wine charm that I took apart.  ha ha ha!

I've covered all the presents with some more Maja Design papers and distressed with more Momento cocoa ink.  I've also added some Glossy Accents to the bow on the small gift and more Martha Stewart Texture to the bigger one on the left.

Oooo my center piece!!  Literally - lol!  This old Santa vintage image is also from the Maja papers and I've curled back the pieces around the image, distressed them then added some Gesso.  The corner pieces were from my stash so I also topped those off too.

The stockings were hung by the chimney with care...hee hee!  Added some twine, Martha Stewart Texture and Glossy Accents.

Another pretty resin piece covered with Wild Orchid Flowers and Gesso.

This "25" is a die from Tim Holtz but I've used raw chipboard from SRTC.  I covered it in some "Java Bean" Glitter Ritz - soooooo pretty - then topped it off with more Gesso.  Oh and that flower is from Prima and I'm so excited to say I've used almost all flowers from that package.  I tend to hoard so that's a big deal for me.  LOL!

And last but not least!  Snowflakes from SRTC that I painted with a TH dauber and then added Twinklettes to cover.  If you click on the picture, you'll be able to view a close up and the Twinklettes are just crushed up glass fragments.  Very pretty though.

A shout out goes to my friend Sheri who gave me a bag of super pretty laces and I've finally had a chance to dip into some.  THANKS!  The wooden star in the top left frame, the gorgeous pearl centered flower ribbon and the white Kort and Godt chrysanthemums are from LLC.

These gorgeous wooden words are a preview and will be added to the store in October!

Well we are off to The Great Canadian Scrapbook Carnival in Edmonton so hope we see you there!

Have a great week!

Fall fun ...

Yes, fall is approaching, I can feel it in the air ... time for some fall related crafting :) The leaves (NAT-393) from Southern Ridge Trading Company were the perfect compliment to this artist trading card, with this gorgeous image :  'Rory collecting autumn leaves' by Lacy Sunshine / Heather Valentin.
I chose three leaves from the pack of 10 from Southern Ridge Trading Co. There are a variety of sizes and styles in the pack. I sponged them lightly at the edge with walnut stain and drew in some light vein detail.

A very fun project :)

A Summer Sn@p Album

Hey Bloggers!
I wanted to pop in and share a bit of my Summer SN@P album I've been working on! I have so many random summer pictures I thought it would be nice to start an album dedicated to summer! It doesn't matter what year...I just want our vacations to be documented, and I really loved this SN@P album from Simple Stories! So that's about all the excuse I need to start a new mini album! :)

I love these Starfish (NAT-320) from SRTC! You could really do so many fun things to them to alter them, but I am really loving the raw organic look of natural chipboard these days! I think it works really well with the fabric album and the whole summer theme :)

Aaak! These glasses! I love them so much I can't even stand it! As a teenager I always wanted a pair of glasses JUST like these, so when I saw them at a crop I was at at the SRTC table, I knew they had to be mine! They work perfectly with the "enjoy the view" sentiment on the viewfinder sticker! All I did with them was smear them on an ink pad and they were good to go! lol

for the flourish (which was part of that big 12x12 flourish chipboard that I did a layout with here), I rubbed it down with Inka Gold, then put a layer of liquid adhesive down and just doused it with gold glitter! I kinda love it!

This album is a work in progress, so I will be posting more of it on my blog from time to time! :)

Thanks for stopping by!!

Blessings,

Sarah
