Retro Mother's Day Card With Dawn E

We are excited to welcome Dawn E to our Guest Design Team. Dawn is up on the blog today sharing a fabulous Mother's Day Card, that's sure to inspire you. Sit back and learn all about how she created her first project for us!

Dawn here from the little mennonite blog with a retro Mother's Day card for you for my Grandmother (from my Mother).   Before I start I would like to give a shout out to the team at the Southern Ridge Trading Company for having me as a guest designer.  Thank-you!  What an honor and what awesome products!

First, I took the Southern Ridge Trading Company Retro TV and smooshed my VersaMark ink pad onto the antenna and the legs.  Then I quickly covered them with silver embossing powder and heat setting them to look like metal.
Then I painted the rest of the

Southern Ridge Trading Company Retro TV

with Martha Stewart Beach Glass paint.  Before the paint with completely dry I covered it with Martha Stewart Glitter.
Lastly, I taped a piece of patterned paper to the back of the

Southern Ridge Trading Company Retro TV .  All the patterned paper I used is old stock.

Cover the front on an A2 white card with a retro print.  Adhere the

Southern Ridge Trading Company Retro TV to card front.  Glue Southern Ridge Trading Company Mini Wood Starfish to card front with a strong liquid adhesive.  (Like Glossy Accents.)  Stamp out two bow ties from Lawn Fawn's Love 'n' Breakfast stamp set onto patterned paper.  Cut out.  Adhere toSouthern Ridge Trading Company Mini Wood Starfish.

Using Lawn Fawn's Owen's ABCs stamp out "Mom" with Hero Arts Bubblegum ink.  Use the matching dies to die cut the letters.  Finally, use Lawn Fawn's So Jelly stamp set  to ink out the "you're a star" sentiment in black VersaFine ink on vellum.  Cover with clear embossing powder and heat set.  Adhere with Glossy Accents.

I can't say enough about the

Southern Ridge Trading Company Retro TV.

It can be used to host so many ideas.  Also I'm loving the

Southern Ridge Trading Company Mini Wood Starfish, as they are made of thick wood with lovely cut-through details.  I highly, recommend both.
