Just a Note Card

Happy Monday! Hopefully you were able to stay cool this weekend. We still have our challenge going on and you can see and read all of the details HERE. We can't wait to see what you have created. So it's my turn back on the blog and I created a card this time. I won't make you wait any longer, here it is.

Here is the card using HHP-624:

Supplies Used: Prima Marketing - Garden Fable, Bazzill Cardstock - Hot Pink, Southern Ridge - Flowers & HHP-624, Seam Binding Ribbon - Hot Pink.

On the HHP-624 piece I put 2 layers of white gesso on first just to seal it so that the paint would take to the piece better. Once that was dry, I added a layer of Paper Artsy Fresco Paint in Vintage Lace to give it a soft finish. The detail is so gorgeous on this piece that I didn't want to take away from it.

To create the background behind the birdcage I used a piece of 300gsm watercolour paper and added the Donna Downey "Chicken Coupe" stencil to the bottom left and top right hand corners using Ranger Texture Paste. Once this dried I sprayed it with Prima Marketing Colour Bloom in Vintage Coal and Heidi Swapp Citron and Raspberry.

And that's my card! Thanks for stopping by and taking a look. Remember you still have a couple of days to submit your challenge project. I can't wait to see what you have created and I will be back on July.2nd to announce the winner of our June challenge.

Until Next Time!

Journal Cover - Holidays

Hey Everyone, Dunja here and i've a new inspiration for you today. I have a pimped DINA4 Scrap Book. It crossed my mind that our holiday pictures should no longer only be in the tray. They deserve it to be in a beautiful photo book. However i will do the inside, scrapping or in mixed media style so precisely I have not committed myself;) but the cover is already finished!

I used chipboard elements of Southern Ridge (PAT-603 + BOR-143), first i painted them with lots of Gesso. The background of the Journal, I also brushed with a lot of gesso, covered scraps from old book pages and design paper and again brushed with Gesso. This really makes a lot of fun and i like the effect a lot. The stamps which I have used are from Vildastamps, they go very well with mixed media works.

The golden Micro Pearls were mixed with acrylic medium and then wiped in the Chipboard elements. They may also scatter in the wet acrylic medium, then they are not as lasting and roll away again ;)

I did a few splatters of paintsprays. The texts I have written on the computer, printed them out, the edges were easily wiped and then they were glued.

The beautiful Enamel elements (dots and hearts) are from Marianne Design. The brads are from Prima Marketing Inc. from the Traveller Collection. The metal shield 'Journey' is also from Prima.

I'm looking forward on filling this album with our holiday pictures and i would like to show you the  finished pages!

Have a beautiful day and thanks for stopping by.

Hugs from Germany, Dunja

Fathers day celebration

Hi everyone thanks for visiting our blog on this special day. Fathers day is a big event in our house and I have made this page for my husband to celebrate the special bond he has with the boys.

I have sprayed the chipboard welded words with gold and embellished it with ribbon before attaching them to my page.

WEL-362.jpg                                                                               WEL-361.jpg

                                                                                                      WEL- 361
WEL -362

I added these wooden fish seeing that fishing is their favorite hobby.

                 Wood -564
              WOOD-564.jpg

I made use of Blending Chalk to color the wooden fish.  They can also be used in there natural color, but for this particular page the coloring worked better.

I then applied Glossy accent to emphasize the edges. See the difference between the natural, chalk only and then the glossy accent end result on the photo. Glossy accent can also be ordered from Southern Ridge trading, its under supplies in the shopping categories.

Hope you enjoyed my blog if you have any questions feel free to leave me a comment.
Happy scrapping till next time. Tanya Grimbeek

Peacefull Blessings

I have been wanting to make something with feathers for ages.
Welllll, thank you Karen for these gorgeous treats.
This is
They come in a pack of three and are already so detailed,
I just used them right from the pack.

OMGosh, aren't they amazing!!!

I printed off a dreamcatcher, fussy cut it, added a few seed beads to give it a color pop.
With the center piece of a flower brad, I added some fringe to create a concho.
I also added some beads on a piece of embroadery thread,
laying that on the feathers with a bit of fringe.

to compliment the feathers, I've used an image called Cornelia from Saturated Canary,
Framed her with Pierced ticket BDZ dies
Sentiment from DoveArt Studios called Simply Sweet.

Faith and Hope and Love Card

Ok, for the first time EVER, I am sharing a card I've done where I used my alcohol ink markers & coloured an image... now this is stepping OUTSIDE the box for me, especially when in the company of colouring greats like Eulanda and Alyce on this Design Team!!! My colouring pales in comparison & I'm almost embarrassed to share LOL! But hey, we all have to start somewhere & this was literally the second image I've ever coloured...

I chose to use the bigger of two frames in Karen's beautiful vintage frame set VIN-550 and pop it up around my fairy image. I used my Memento Starlite Silver Brillance ink pad to cover the frame itself.

I then prettied up the frame with a couple of  coloured flowers, made with Heartfelt Creations flower stamps & dies, using a jewel brad to hold the layers together, and then added a ribbon bow & a couple more flowers. I finished the card off by adding the LOVE charm to compliment the Faith & Hope words on the basket.

Thanks for looking! Cheers! Melissa :D

Happy Birthday Card - June Challenge

Happy Monday! Hope your weekend was filled with crafty things! It's my turn up on the blog today and I created a birthday card for our challenge this month.  This months challenge was hard for me as I'am used to using lots of flowers and feminine papers.

Here's my card:

Supplies Used: SRTC: PAT-603, Bo Bunny: Somewhere In Time - Beauty & Balloons, Tim Holtz: Kraft Core, Bazzill: Brown Cardstock, Ranger: Tim Holtz Distress Paint - Vintage Photo, Imagine Crafts: Embossing Powder - Copper & Hug 'n' Bug: Seam Binding Ribbon - Brown & Turquoise.

The piece I used on my card is PAT-603. To cover my piece I used Tim Holtz Vintage Photo Distress Paint. I then wanted to give the piece more of a rusted look so I added glossy accents and sprinkled copper embossing powder over top.

So here is my card with all the pieces together:

You still have 15 days to participate in our June Monthly Challenge. For all the details and to add your name onto the challenge list check it our here.  We can't wait to see your entry.
Thanks for taking the time and checking out my creation.

Until Next Time!

Grad 2015

A friend of mine asked me to make up a grad card for her daughter but at first when she said the colors were GOLD and BLACK I thought UGH!!  Then to top it off with blonde hair?!!  DOUBLE UGGGGGGH!!  Not my strong suit!!  HOWEVER!!  I met this challenge with a vengeance!!  I had a whole lot of fun making this card and it came together incredibly fast.  I was surprised.  So ya, instead of taking a whole day it only took half.  LOL!!

I fretted about what image I was going to use until Krista from Saturated Canary put this cutie out this year.  Ahhhhh excellent timing!!  (Copic colors listed below)  Name of image "Grad Girl 2015".  The grad cap is a chipboard piece from Southern Ridge Trading Company and I painted it with Mod Podge then covered it with Tim Holtz distress glitter.  Looks sooooo cool IRL!!

I used this gorgeous chipboard clock from SRTC as well.  (LOVE THESE THINGS!)  VIN-547  Added my usual big bouquet to top off the card!  LOL!

And I just love this book charm I found in my stash from Live and Love Crafts!!  PERFECT!!

The blackberries and that gorgeous piece of white lace is also from LLC.  The little butterfly die and the star border are from Noor! Design.

Ok so 1 more grad card to go for my stepson.  STEPSON FOLKS!  A GUY GRAD CARD!  OMG!  Sigh...I have to make it this weekend so we'll see how I make out with that.  Yikes!  I am clueless on this one.

Thanks for stopping by!
Eulanda

Extraordinary Dad

Fathers day is around the corner I want to dedicate this blog to my EXTRAORDINARY DAD.
I chose this BoBunny paper because his favorite colors are blue and green.

The heading and subtitles are all Chipboard from Southern Ridge Trading Company which I colored with a gold Colorbox pigment stamp pad.

Booklet on the left page

This is a booklet that holds up to 14 extra photos. You could extend it to carry up to 20 photos without it being too bulky for an album. I like to stick my booklets on top of my page protector in my album.

I used a Tim Holtz Distress tool to distress the edges of the photo mounts.

Under this flap is a waterfall booklet which I presented at the Merritt Crop but I turned it on the side. I used metal eyelits, ribbon and wool with the chipboard words to add texture to the layout.

The waterfall booklet is always a hit. Its a nice surprise when you lift the cover and underneath is a cute flap pull out booklet that holds another 12 pictures. In total this page can accommodate 26 photos. A wonderful layout for a holiday or birthday with lots of memories.
Hope you enjoyed this layout. Happy scrapping, until next time.
Tanya Grimbeek.

Memories | A Vintage Layout

HiyaSR Friends , i'm glad you stopped by. Today i'll show you a masculine Layout. I like the Mixed Media Style a lot, so it was so much fun to play with all the Goodies. I also added tons of Gesso ;)

VIN-531.jpg

I wanted to use the Chipboard wheel VIN 531 of Southern Ridge and picked a perfect matching stamp of Vildastamps V131. For the background i stucked with some newspaper snippets and brushed them slightly with Gesso. Then i used different kinds of Masks from Dutch Doobadoo. The exact list of materials you will find, as always, at the end of this entry.

Behind the wheel I've put a doily that I have punched with a Cheery Lynn die, glued it and attached a bit of white thread. It can be fixed with acrylmedium, because it all dries transparent.

In addition to various color sprays from Prima Marketing Inc. and 13@rts I used some elements of Prima Marketing Inc., which also fit well with the vintage-style.

HHP-559.jpg

I decorated the layout with some flowers that I partly fixed with screws-Brads, the sentiments that I have made with my Dymo Labeler and some white and golden sequins. At the upper right and lower left corner I attached more adorable chipboard elements from Southern Ridge - HHP-559 and added some Gesso.

I hope you'll like my Layout. Please leave a comment - i appreciate this very much. Thanks for stopping by

Did you see our current challenge this month yet? It's a great theme - MASCULINE - yeah and we hope you'll join our Challenge this time :)

have a fabolous day
