Cards with Embellishments

Hey everyone! I'm back with a couple of cards using cute little embellishments from Southern Ridge Trading Company's great line of products.

First one is a masculine birthday card featuring this great little wooden star in a circle (Wood-192) I love the natural look of the wood cutouts & really like that you don't have to do a thing to them to make look fantastic! :P

The next card is an everyday card using one of these adorable flowers from right here FLW-006

I smooch sprayed the flower & then added one squirt of the marshmallow glimmer mist. I love how it just blends in so well with the paper colours! I added a button with a linen thread bow to top it off!

Thanks for looking at my cards! Cheers! :)

Anyone for tea ?

How lovely to have tea cups and saucers, amongst the new release from Southern Ridge Trading Company, HHP-328. It is a pack of 4, in different styles and sizes. I am a tea drinker. Its such an important ritual for me, and for many of my friends. So a tea friendship card was perfect :)
I first sealed the cup and saucer with gel medium and then colored them with india ink, finishing with embossing with ultra thick embossing powder (UTEE). Its so shiny and glossy now, and feels just like real pottery.
I die cut the word friend, and scrunched up the doily. I decided that for a change, I would have a banner across the bottom of my card. The steam coming from the cup is subtle, but shiny to catch the light.
So if you are ever over this way, please pop in for a cuppa :) Nikki x

Pretty Honeycomb!!!

HAPPY WEEKEND MY PEEPS!!  Well if you're around I am sharing a new card with you today!  I haven't played with red/white/kraft colors in AGES and it was kinda fun I have to say!!  And how do you like that honeycomb chipboard from Southern Ridge Trading Company?!!!  It's so easy to cut however you want it to fit.  LUV THAT!!!

This cute little image is called Ladybug Marci from La La Land.  First time playing with these images and I think this was my 7th attempt!  ha ha ha!  I still managed to mess up a few things but I'm not going to tell you in hopes that you won't even notice.  LMBO!

OH and one more pretty flourish piece from SRTC too.  This is one my favorites which I've used a few times.  Gorgeous huh?

Well when this posts I will probably be tapped out.  We are camping this weekend and I don't know if there is cell service.  OMG RIGHT?!!  It'll probably do me good.  BUT - let's not kid ourselves here.  I AM taking my Copics!!!  LOL!!

HAVE A GREAT WEEKEND!

Cowgirl Up Canvas

Hello everyone!! Cheri here with a new project for you. I had some fun with a bunch of fun wood veneer pieces Karen at Southern Ridge gave me to make this 5x6 canvas. While I'm not a rodeo girl, I do LOVE horses so that's my claim to western fame... haha! That rhymes!

Now, bear with me as I see that I forgot to take another picture after I straightened that L out! Geesh! I obviously chose the wrong adhesive for the job and it leaned a little when I stood it up for pictures. Now in the next few days I will post a step by step video on my blog (oh and I'll prolly let you know here too! lol) of how I put this together and all the fun stuff I used to make it...even a few *what not to do* moments!!
But as for what awesome Southern Ridge Trading Co. elements I have used here....

First up is the word COWGIRL here I have painted it and outlined the word in white gel pen, of course I had to use pink!! And then there's the wood horse shoes and the wagon wheel, oh I LOVED those!! Now that BIG horse shoe is also from SRTC, but it was a fun extra, but I'm sure if you sweet talked Karen, she'd make one for you as well.

I just want to add that those gorgeous pink flowers on here are from PRIMA and I bought them at the great store in Kamloops Memory Junction!! If you're in Kamloops BC you MUST check it out! Tell Melissa I sent ya!

Thanks for stopping by today!! I hope you like this Western canvas of mine, and like I said, stay tuned for my video!! Keep crafting!!

Wedding Card

Hello to the Southern Ridge Trading Company fans out there! I'm back with a wedding card for this post full of great little goodies from SRTC

Black is so classic & elegant & makes the wedding colours of the lucky couple pop off the page.

I started using a Memory box Stencil with some Viva Decor  Inka Gold in Haematite. Then I carried that colour theme over to my circle flourish frame (Frames & Borders) and one of the lovely birds from the kit (NAT-295).

I also inked a wooden heart charm in a blue/grey to match the colour scheme.

The butterfly border die is from Memory Box. I then stamped a circular wedding sentiment & embellished with Prima flowers & some jewel flourish bling to pull it all together.

I hope the lucky couple loves their wedding card as much I do!

Northern Dance

The Northern lights, or Aurora Borealis is a breathtaking sight. To see the different colored lights dancing in the Northern skies is wondrous. I feel very fortunate to have seen it in all its glory a number of times, but it is so enchanting and different every time, you could never tire of it. I hope I captured the essence of it in my dt project today for Southern Ridge Trading Company. Look, I even incorporated some shadow into my pic ...
I have seen this sponging technique a few times and really wanted to try it with something other than trees and the wilderness. So decided to use this city cape chipboard piece, Misc-305 on this artist trading card. I used the middle sized piece, there is three in the pack.

The order of colors for sponging the northern lights sky is yellow, green, turquoise, purple, dark blue and black. Thank you to Melissa Banbury for demoing this technique, I really enjoyed doing it. The chipboard is painted with black gesso. The stars are done with my white gel pen.

Hope you like it, thanks for visiting :) and feel free to leave a comment.
I hope you see / experience something wondrous today.

Daphne

Hello all!  I'm back with another cutie card topped off with some wonderful chipboard pieces!!  This little sweetie is "Daphne" from Wee Stamps.  I've used all kinds of goodies from all over the place!

Southern Ridge carries some gorgeous butterflies but this is one of my favorites!!  I painted it up with a Tim Holtz dauber and then added some shabby chic white Frantage around the edges.  The number of this one is INS-082 and you'll find it in the Insects, Animals, Nature and Garden category.

I love this banner because it's etched to look like wood - ON CHIPBOARD!  So instead of coloring it, I just added my own paper sentiment then painted some Gesso around the edges.  This one is BAN-284 and found in the Tags, Banners and Signs category.

There you have it!!  I hope you all have a wonderful weekend and don't forget to check us out on the FB group and join us there.

Books Are Where The Magic Is

Happy Tuesday from Missouri.  Today I'm sharing a card I've made using this adorable image from Saturated Canary colored with Copics during a Color Along with Alyce on the Kit and Clowder website.

I've chosen these wonderful pieces of chipboard by Karen to accent the card.  I wanted to keep it plain this time so you could see how it looks in it's natural form.  The pieces I've used are FRA 308,  and  leaves/branches GAR 285.  The flowers are from WOC.

You can find these chipboard pieces along with many others to chose from at Southern Ridge Trading Company.

Thanks so much for stopping by and we hope to see you again soon.
Love & Hugs, Carol
